Yeah the crazy thing is this all started with a lightning storm like last weekend. Then the fire got started, then they burn hit and make more lightning storms. Then we’re supposed to get like the remaining bits of a hurricane so...yeah more lightning storms. It’s been like a constant heat as well. You can still sweat, but the air just drys up any moisture. We’ve got our go bags and our supplies just in case we’re told to book it outa hear. Low key we joked about this years ago, we may not have had to worry about the earthquake...just a huge wall of fire and smoke.

Update: Evacuation Orders are being issued to people with the immediate fire path. My family is on standby, to bounce. Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all.” Everyone be safe and pray for all of our brothers and sisters though the world. We’re all going through some crazy trial.

There were several evacuation orders in our area yesterday, several families in our congregation were affected by mandatory evacuation orders and several families voluntarily evacuated because they were close to the evacuation zones. All of the evacuation orders in our area were lifted last night. However the town next to us was hit the hardest and the evacuation orders are still in place.

We have friends that moved to Pleasant Hill, Calif. Is that near where you and the fires are? They were in the Vallejo congregation but they moved to one closer to them; not sure where though..

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..

They seam fine, the fire in north bay would have to go over the bridge, the fire burning to there right is very small and would have to burn around Mt.Diablo and the surrounding mountains and hills.

  • 2 weeks later...

The two largest fires, one of which came within a few miles of us, are now both over 90% contained. The air quality is still bad but getting better. My wife, the optimist, hopes that these fires reduce the available fuel for our normal October fires...

California, every year is on fire or an earthquake.  Every where else it's tornado's, hurricane's, typhoons, raining for a month or more, flooding.  My concern, is the safety and lives of you, and all our brothers and sisters affected worldwide by these natural disasters.  Thank Jah, in the paradise, Jesus, will be controlling our weather.   And no one will have to get an evacuation order!

The wind changed direction yesterday and blew in smoke and ash from several fires many miles north of us. This is what it looked like at 8am this morning. The street looked like snow flurries.

I have non-Witness family members in Oregon state who had to evacuate due to fires.  Their small town of about 1,000 people is being destroyed and other neighboring small towns have already been.  They managed to take some family photographs from their photo albums with them before they left in the middle of the night.  They evacuated just the other night.

Over 400 brothers and sisters in our circuit were evacuated because of the fire, fortunately none of them were injured and no one lost a home. The fire did destroy some of their property and structures but no homes. The last ones were able to return to their homes today.

That’s good news! Thanks for sharing that.
    Following theocratic direction reaps benefits.

Some of that fuel is from Eucalyptus trees I would imagine. There was a big push by the sept of agriculture to plant those giant weeds back in the 1950’s ( IMS) .  Southern California is meant to be a grassland but modern agriculture has made it into a tinderbox. So I’d guess your wife is right.   Next problem: flooding.
