It never fails to amaze me that some, “sort of”, reasonable people still stand by this organization. What are they thinking? Or not?

If we ever get back to knocking on doors and someone identifies as a Catholic, I’m going back to the car with a bloody🩸tongue. 🤣 😂 🤣

Im not denying or defending the Catholic church, but I know how the news is regarding us. So I looked at the article and found some interesting tid bits.

"Sauve said the commission itself had identified around 2,700 victims through a call for testimony, and thousands more had been found in archives."

"A wide-ranging study by research and polling groups estimated there had been around 216,000 victims, and the number could rise to 330,000 when including abuse by lay members"

This was only france and there have been confirmed cases that they've already payed reparations at high numbers. 2,700 is a lot lower than 216,000 or 330,000. It could be that high being how they handled abuse cases and shuffled things around, but I have a hard time trusting polling data that anonymous.

"and that there had been more than 100 reported allegations a year since 2016." - in Britain... You don't even have to skew numbers for things to be sad within the Catholic church.

I wanted to comment on the response from the 'Pope'.  I wanted to quote him accurately, so I went looking for the story at three mainstream news outlets.  The story is gone.  At least where I was looking.

But I will paraphrase.  Apparently, the 'Pope' expressed 'shame' and 'sadness' over this news.  I guess he has given up on trying to express shock and horror.

'Shame' and 'sadness' are the feelings you experience when you learn that your child cheated on his school exams.  In fact, you may feel even worse. You may feel heartbreak.

When people in a position of trust commit such heinous crimes as this story claims, it should evoke a heck of a lot more than shame and sadness. Maybe "they" are just tired of dealing with it. BtG cannot be destroyed soon enough.

by lay members missioned by the church... it's evident that if we take into accounts any Joe going to the local church... this could go x20 easily
