Here's another development;  Iran is saying they want to organize an Islamic army in the war against Israel.

 

According to a top Iranian official, Iran wants to unite with "Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and several other countries".

 

This is hard to imagine. Turkey is a NATO nation.  Saudi Arabia is very friendly with the USA (Trumps first foreign trip, save the funeral of pope Francis, was to Saudi Arabia).  Pakistan is a nuclear power.

 

Would one or more of these governments jump in to help Iran in the name of Islam????

Reports coming out of Iran show much of the population cheering on the Israeli's killing of the army commanders, as these same commanders had brutally oppressed any dissent . The killing of innocent civilians not so much.
I suspect this underlying dissent with the regime is one reason why Mossad has been so successful in recruiting Iranians to sabotage from within.

To go along with the last couple comments:

Remember the Mahsa Amini hijab riots? The people hate the regime and will take any opportunity to act against them. The only real reason the Ayatollah and his henchmen are really able to stay in power is because the army and the police are still loyal to them.

 

Seems there is still a potential for a turning against the religious rulers, at the latest, at the start of the GT.
