younger brother appointment is not new, it's there form quite some time.

I do understand this but if you watch the Broadcasts in order for the last year you can feel a certain 'urgency' and a gentle change occurring. It seemed to be more about more help being accepted into the GB and our local brothers training young ones. It may seem, to me, that those young ones will benefit now and then after A-Day when the 'men of old' are resurrected to add to their training. Interesting thoughts.

I watched that interview as well.  So disappointing.  60 minutes had a strong reputation for straight reporting, no bias.  They were known for tracking down elusive "suspects" in parking lots or wherever, and getting impromptu interviews.

Leslie Stahl interviewed a brother who was also an attorney.  Possibly directly involved in a custody case?  Anyway, during the interview the concept of monitoring or "managing" who your kids associate with came up.  Leslie acted incredulous at the idea that a JW parent would not allow their child to associate with certain other kids.  It was a ridiculous moment.  Leslie should have been ashamed.

Does Leslie allow her kids to hang out with kids who smoke, drink, look at porn?  Oh well, it's a business  .    .    .

what are you'll talking about can you'll please share link im from India

What is 16? Is it chapter 16 of Revelation? If so, chapter 17 is about the description of a destruction of Babylon the Great. 16 is about the 7 bowls of angers that I feel we are in the 7th which is in-progress.

Nah, 16 is round of 16 in terms of games.

Meanwhile in UK:

Protect human rights from religious imposition, NSS urges UN

Posted: Fri, 9th Feb 2024

NSS tells UN Human Rights Committee religious privilege is undermining rights in education, healthcare and around free speech.

https://www.secularism.org.uk/news/2024/02/protect-human-rights-from-religious-imposition-nss-urges-un

The National Secular Society has called on the United Nations Human Rights Committee (HRC) to address religious threats to human rights in the UK.

For the first time, the NSS has submitted evidence on the UK's implementation of the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which the HRC oversees.

The government must now set aside fears of offending religious groups and take all necessary steps to uphold the rights enshrined in the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights

This is very much a secular society here in the UK nowadays. The various religious groups vie for popularity and the CofE has a very small voice now. There is currently a question about separating church and state, which could well be the first step in legally eliminating the influence they have had in the past.

We wait to see how this all moves forward. Thanks for your update Sofia

Indeed.  Isn't it up to the voters at the next election?  The opinion is that the church doesn't speak for the majority of the population.

It will be very interesting since the King is the Head of the church of England.  And the symbolic head of parliament?

Realistically, there are some. But we see publishers never change since then because of devotion. Some of them close to me that's why I continually advise and encourage them to give the best for Jehovah.

Yes, but I do not understand… against whom they would use the nukes? Against another political party … come on friends… come on, lets not inflate the news.

Yes, also the same happening in the Southeast Asia. Nowadays, christendoms are not exempted for governments inquiries and legal prosecutions. Now some are found corrupt and abuse their parishioners. Governments are now showing their hatred and exercising their authority.

Thanks... We do encouragement and show to others the benefits of being active in the works despite of challenges. Once we find someone become so occupied with daily affairs and forget the most important things we are obliged to remind them and encourage them to taste the goodness of Jehovah through ministry. Honestly, sometimes we feel lazy in the ministry although we are healthy and sound.

It's only February  .    .

There's many elections scheduled this year.

Did you see the opening statement in this article on jw.org - People Losing Trust In Politicians—What Does the Bible Say?

"The year 2024 will see a record number of elections taking place around the world."

I checked an article on time.com and Wikipedia

Some 64 countries, representing almost 50% of the world's population will have elections this year. Notable enough for jw.org to post and article.

Oops! I see this was mentioned earlier. Sorry for the repitition..

Due to imperfection, thats why we need encouragement regularly. We face discouragement everyday from Satan's world. We are the main target in discouragement to stop the good news from spreading.

Glenn, as a friendly reminder to your response, this is a worldwide board and not everyone is from the U.S. and news stories would vary by country, region, etc.   I do agree however the U.S. job market is very good right now.  But we all know how things change.

THE JOB MARKET IS NOT GOOD!,

I live in Silicon Valley, and a lot of tech companies are laying people off. Google, Facebook, Microsoft, TikTok, just to name a few….

https://www.benefitnews.com/list/microsoft-meta-google-and-amazon-lay-off-thousands-of-workers

And UPS is laying off 12,000 workers!

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/30/ups-reports-drop-in-package-volume-stock-tumbles.html

The MSM manipulates the numbers to make it appear that the job market is doing well, like saying we have such and such amount of growth in the past month. Well, those are just the jobs that have been added back into the market that were closed down during Covid! So we are not even back where we were prior to Covid!

There may be some pockets in the US that are doing well, but overall economy is bad….
