Just back from the "Not Ashamed of the Good News" Circuit Assembly with Branch Representative.  It was Jeremy Clark.

One thing he said about money; Jehovah has promised we will have what we need, food, clothes, shelter.

But if we're going after wealth, we're on our own. Don't expect Jehovah to bless the pursuit of wealth.

He had a lot to say about our worries and fears too, including persecution.

Im excited with our own circuit assembly.

Unfortunately, some go with material pursuits and cant serve 2 masters at the same time.

The deceptive power of riches is so strong.

Regarding persecution, he quoted 2 Tim 3:12 "All those desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus  will also be persecuted".

Yes, that was said, along with not an 'if' but a 'when', so we should all be focussing on helping a our families and our congregations to keep their spiritual focus.

Also good to keep up to date with the personal experiences of our brothers in Russian detention. Their fine examples, and the way they keep spiritual things to the fore, are examples we should not forget.

I think Trump is trying to bring manufacturing back to America by removing the incentives to choose foreign products over domestic. This could theoretically work if we weren't in the last days, but I think the way he is shaking things up could lead directly to the GT - hopefully

This is what I conclude, too. The big hurdle that I see insurmountable is the time it will take to bring the manufacturing back to America. If it takes longer than 4 years, then what's the point? Trump will be gone and his successor will undo all of this.

I think it would take longer than 4 years to bring production back to the States.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

It would take awhile to bring manufacturing back, years .  But there's already manufacturing in the US, so I think it's a matter of the consumer deciding they will buy domestic and manufacturing will come back if they want in on the market.

A simple comparison is "Why hire someone (an outsider) when you can do the job yourself and save? Keep it in the family."  Like when we need help and we look for a JW if possible.

I don't think the pendulum will always swing back and forth every election.  If there's an administration that produces real results, and life improves for the common man, then probably the party can hold the office .  It used to be that one-term presidents was rare; Carter, Ford, George H.W. Bush and for reasons that are well known.

In any case, we can hope there won't be another US presidential election to endure in this system.  As Br. Jackson said, changes can happen suddenly.
