Trump administration says federal employees can encourage co-workers to "re-think" their religious beliefs

The Trump administration on Monday told federal workers they can talk about religion at work, including by trying to "persuade others of the correctness of their own religious views."

I'm wondering how this will work out for us.

The Christian conservatives are happy with what Trump did. They said this just restarted in the Federal Government.

I guess the lines of separating church and state has come non-existence.

How do you figure?

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

The 1st amendment in the US has permitted people to talk about their faith for a long time now. This is just a show with absolutely no meaning.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

I understand your opinion and I understand why you have this opinion. But a large amount of Christian conservancy who work for the federal government feel like their first amendment rights are being removed by certain elements within the federal government and now they feel like Trump as their Messiah has given back their first amendment, right. Time will tell all things.

The founding fathers was afraid that the pope were ruled their new government so they put in separation of church and state Trump is a Catholic. No, he doesn't really listens to the Pope, but there's a new pope now. Maybe he might listen to him. So what the founding fathers of this country feared is happening now there is a Catholic ruling their country as president and being influence by the Pope.

And he is passing laws according to the Catholic thinking about religion and the state. The pope influence and a King ruling their government was what the founding fathers feared the most in the United States of America.

Is this a conclusion you have reached on your own? Are there any articles that you found drove this conclusion home for you?

Sorry, you misunderstood my question.  Trump and his religious affiliation is not in all the history books. Likewise, current concerns regarding the Trump administration narrowing, blurring, or removing the separation of church and state won't be found in those history books.

Allow me to rephrase. What has led you to conclude that there is growing concern about a the current US President is Catholic and that he or his administration are working to remove the separation of church and state? What important articles can you share that go into detail about this particular trend?

Oh boy this is getting confusing. I made the mistake. I thought he was a Catholic so that's misinformation. My bad. I redact that.

Please don't pay attention to that man behind that mirror. He don't know what he's talking about and that's me.lol 🥺🤣

But I will find articles showing that liberal politicians look for ways to take Christians conservatives rights away.

Thanks. I see that article is from 2022 back when Joe Biden was President.

You seem to be scrambling now and googling to find articles. Were you able to read that entire article? It was behind a paywall for me. Don't knock yourself out on my a. My question wasn't that important.

I did my own research and what I found was that the concerns about Trump undermining the separation of church and state are nothing new. Like you inadvertently shared, previous administrations have come under similar scrutiny.

Trump is just the current flavor of the moment and he's easy to paint as the boogy man. That's partially because he does a good job doing that to himself.

I think this TV host will be the next Supreme Court Justices, one of the current liberal Supreme Court justices is very sick with diabetes. I think she's just going to die in office before Trump leaves or gets so sick She's going to have to step down and Trump will replace her with this TV star.

This will give Trump a super super majority of 7 to 2 of the 9 in the Supreme Court.

This is just my opinion I could be totally wrong but we will see.

I agree with you. The Christian conservatives want to be able to talk about their beliefs on what a family really is-one man and one woman married. They don’t believe they should have to refer to men as women and vice versa.
Most work places have been teaching and expecting employees to go along with the new ideas of lgbtq and gender.  If you say otherwise, you can be considered “harassing”. Our corporate office makes us watch the anti harassment video every year. Funny this year, all of the LGBTQ stuff wasn’t emphasized like in years past.
No more calls to put your gender in your email signature.
We did have a teammate decide to change gender this year. They changed their name completely and are going through the hormone therapy to become a man. This person tends to isolate themselves already so we are pleasant and respectful but really don’t engage in extended conversations.

I definitely think Trumps push against these unconventional beliefs has changed things in those regards. Do they still harrass us with emails about giving blood, holidays and National this that and the other month?  Yes, yes they do. This month we’ve gotten at least two emails saying they are begging for blood donors because they don’t have enough. They also did another big layoff this month (and the end of last year). I think all the donors have gotten laid off, Becky.

Anyway, there’s a shift and in many ways it’s subtle shifts. Yes, time will tell how this plays out. It’s all a hot mess no matter which way they try to turn.

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

Sigh…sometimes I feel everything becomes an argument on here….

No doubt consciences differ. Thanks

My comment about the Disney movie was because some people did get creeped out by the Johnny Depp version. Different versions give a different feel.

Very true...one of our more direct Circuit Overseer said "Disney is about magic people..."  It wasn't in a positive way...😕

Some friends do watch Disney and others like myself tend to avoid it...and trying to avoid nostalgia....I associate magic with spirtism and  I know Jehovah doesn't like that so that's why I avoid that.
