Do you think English pronunciation is tricky and hard?

When one's forced to pronounce very clearly? (and not in a conversation)

As when one reads from a stage.. or something like that.

 

I find 'ourselves, while, world, carl, wooden' quite hard to pronounce clearly.

I do not find pronouncing English tricky at all - however, I think I would have a hard time trying to pronounce things in Korean.

I thought she gave a brilliant explanation as to why Korean speakers struggle with the pronunciation of certain sounds in English.  See what you think. I’d be interested in hearing your views as I teach English to migrants.

The "h" is prononced, we don't do that in French  that's my weak point I think

Yes. There are some French-speaking people in Montreal who have problems with those words too. Similarly, the word "squirrel" also gives them trouble. But of course when I speak French (even after all these years) I still have trouble saying the corresponding French word (écureuil).

 

It's just a matter of which language you were raised with, and which language you're trying to speak.

Timothy, I think that depends a lot on one's native language. Your tongue is used to things associated with Korean pronunciation. Very likely, there are also certain sounds in Korean that don't even exist in English. I personally don't have any problems with the words you list as examples - but I have stumbled across other words that I have to deliberately say more slowly and with more concentration in English in order to pronounce them correctly.
