misinformation debunked by fact checking sites

Recommended Posts

I've been robbed! Not by burglars, not by sneaky family members, but by the most cunning, caffeine-crazed culprits in the galaxy: ALIENS! That's right, I'm convinced that extraterrestrial beings visited my kitchen under the cover of darkness, their glowing eyes fixed on one thing: MY PRECIOUS COFFEE! They must have used their advanced technology to beam it aboard their spaceship, leaving me to face the dreaded morning without my trusty caffeine sidekick. I mean, it's the only logical explanation, right? Either that or I just misplaced it... again.

Slowly walking away shouting .. who have seen my beans?

Anyone…. Anyone?

Voice of desperation gets louder and louder … I need my beans!

In the meantime, I have recovered footage from my camera.... LOL :lol1:

so by your standard none of us have God's spirit.

Don't think you have read that in my post.

we shouldn't judge each other for giving a second look to things that don't seem right to us.

Quite true. I didn't notice anyone doing that here? Did you?

It's the natural extension of your logic. You equated believing in conspiracies to not having God's spirit.

I've noticed a lot of hostility toward people who "question the narrative", not just in this thread.

Friends, we respect your right to believe whatever you wish. We won't tell you what to believe or which "narrative" is the right one.

But this is a Christian site and our purpose is to discuss spiritual subjects. There are a variety of subjects we can discuss that are encouraging and upbuilding. As Jehovah's Witnesses, we follow the advice of the Slave to avoid discussing and spreading conspiracy theories.

We would love to read your comments about this week's Watchtower study, or this week's Bible reading, or some nice point that was commented at your meeting, or some gem you found in your personal study, or some nice experience from service. Those are subjects Christians love to share and discuss.

Please remember you are a guest here. It's quite rude to be invited somewhere and keep bringing up a subject the host has clearly said he doesn't want to discuss. If you are willing to discuss spiritual subjects, you are very welcome. But if you are only interested in preaching about the the evils of vaccines, that covid doesn't exist, political controversies or any other conspiracies, then better find another site because those subjects are not welcome here. We respect your right to be interested in those things, but we don't want to hear them.

Please abide by the house rules or leave.

Believing is not the same as knowing about, neither the same as simply believing something exists. The expression believing in something can even imply active support.

For example, I believe that there are conspiracy theories (Wikipedia lists over 70). I do not believe they are the truth, they are "theories". I also believe in actual conspiracies, such as the academic attempt to present the theory of organic evolution as fact, or the religious attempt to obliterate God's name from His own word. There are many other examples.

But although I believe that conspiracies and conspiracy theories exist, I do not support them because I do not believe in them. I believe they are attempts to present lies as truth. None of these real conspiracies, or their sisters, conspiracy theories, are products of God's spirit. They are lies, and as such, all originate, directly or indirectly, with the spirit of Satan the Devil, their father. By that fact alone, anyone originating, promoting or supporting them does not have Jehovah's spirit. But knowing of such matters, in fact, knowing the truth about their origin, has no clash with the operation of God's spirit. In fact, such enlightenment may well be through the operation and empowerment of God's spirit, as is the exposure of such matters. That is how it appears to me anyway. 😊
