Well, Russia seems to busy to do much about any of this: Israel, Iran, Venezuela, etc.

Maybe it's time for China to fully take over Taiwan. They may not get a better time.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

You are right, I didn't know that Venezuela was allied with Russia

If this happens Japan said they might step in ... it would be messy and not as easy as it appears.

Does Trump think that this is his 9/11?  Things are going to get worse quickly and Republicans will cheer it on. They will try to go after anyone who criticizes this as not being patriotic and anti-American much like they did during the Bush years.

The problem is that Trump doesn't have the patience to manage a war campaign.  He wants whatever he says to happen immediately and then he expects to be praised for having a great idea which magically fixed everything.

Former President Bush was riding a wave of post-9/11 nationalism when he went into Afghanistan, and he got the US into Iraq after several weeks of build-up about how they were evil, hated all Americans, and must be stopped.  FOX News and a lot of the mainstream outlets helped, and no one said no except those bleeding-heart liberals and whiny college students.  And when Iraq turned out to be -- no kidding! -- a huge mistake, he still kept the narrative going that it was the better option, and that to do nothing would have been worse.

Trump doesn't seem to have any groundswell of goodwill behind him, just a lot of citizens who are paying more for basic necessities. His government went from randomly attacking and destroying boats that he claimed had drugs, to a coup with no attempt to explain or rationalize why it had to be done, or why Venezuela was a threat to the country.  And most importantly, now that it's over, he's going to forget it and move on.  He's not interested in cleaning up afterward, even though managing the aftermath of an attack is the critical part.

Maybe? Maybe not …. But turmoil is here for sure.
Things can quickly escalate or settle down …. In the meantime Jehovah can act suddenly and make things very different overnight.

Neutrality isn’t broken by awareness. Reading the news!

It’s broken by approval, preference, or emotional investment in a political outcome.

1 Timothy 2:1–2 teaches us to pray about those in authority as they currently exist, asking that their decisions allow us to live quiet, peaceable lives and continue our worship. It does not instruct us to pray for a different government to take over because it might treat our brothers better.

Praying for workable conditions under existing authorities is neutral.

Praying for regime change, or expressing hope that another power will rule, is not.

Neutrality means we do not ask Jehovah to favor one political outcome over another. We trust Him to care for His people regardless of who is in power.

Paul said to pray Jehovah with the hope that political leaders take decisions that benefit the brothers (1 Timothy 2:1–2)

But he did not say rejoice over regime change.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

The world's stormy seas are crashing onto the continents!

We are living in the most unstable times. It is important to remain calm and neutral. Let us remember that this "Operation Absolute Resolve" does not solve anything. It is only "pushing", "contending", "clashing”. It has been written. (Daniel ch. 12)
