Space Travel - Whos In?

Recommended Posts

I think some of us need to pitch in and just take a short journey...

World View Enterprises has truly created a one of a kind, mind blowing experience that will leave you utterly awestruck. This is not your typical balloon ride, considering it costs $75,000, most would expect it to be anything but “typical”. Luckily, the price tag is completely reasonable for what it consists of, and it is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. World View Enterprises will actually send paying customers to the rim of space with a luxurious capsule for a four hour tour and up to heights of 20 miles.

While this is about 70 miles shy of actually being in space, the view that you will experience will be quite breathtaking. You will get a view of our Earth in all of its glory; beautifully contrasted with the colorless sky surrounding everything else. You will get a view of the Earth that is generally reserved for astronauts, which is rather exciting to think about.

World View Enterprises states that the rides are low risk due to the numerous amounts of times similar balloons have climbed to altitudes this high, which is reassuring to say the least. Also, in the event that there is a balloon malfunction, the capsule itself has a safety system in place that will allow it to glide safely back if the need arises.

The capsules are quite spacious and they’re capable of allowing up to eight occupants to freely walk within it, allowing passengers to choose their perspective that they wish to view without being restrained. But how soon will one be able to purchase their ride? Well, World View Enterprises has said that their initial launch for paying customers will most likely be available some time in 2016; not far away indeed, so you might want research into the process more so that you can be one of the first civilians to literally escape the worlds troubles for a short while.

We at Vicespy are highly interested in all scientific endeavors, and we think that it is amazing that technology is advancing to the point where this type of procedure will become common place. If Moore’s law continues at this rate, even space exploration will come to fruition for the common man, instead of being a dream that some of us hold dear. Thank you World View Enterprises for making an experience that once could only be fantasized, a reality.

I'm in if I can sell my kidney. Lols

Looks like it could be an awesome adventure. Least there be peace. :D

In listening to a talk a couple of days ago, Brother Herd talked about how Jehovah could not be contained by the heaven of heavens.  This places him even further out than the Alpha Centauri quadrant which is ~4.367 light years from here.   Even though the short journey spoken of above in this link is cool.....I have to say, I'm going to sit this one out.

Why you might ask?  Because if Jehovah can sit in his place of dwelling and hear my prayers, this by inference means my prayers almost instantaneously reach him.  Which means the speed of prayer far surpasses the speed of light.

Which implies in the future (because my eyes have not seen, nor have my ears heard/seen the speed of light) my mind will be completely blown in that same future which lies not too far ahead and going on this sort of a ride would be like sitting on the kiddie ride at the local fair while in the near future, I can ride this bad boy.....

Not so sure on this one ... look what the result was when some took a "three hour tour" ...

If you find yourself setting aside the needed funds for this experience ... just remember the Professor, Ginger and MaryAnn.

My Wife will take whatever space travel we are allowed to do.  I am afraid a short hop on that kiddie ride above would not satisfy us though.  Kathy and I even discussed this desire to travel space before we were married.  After all, we both realize that unless both marriage mates are on Starship 'Infinitis' when it leaves our cradle, neither us would be able to go.    An orbiting space station with a nice orbiting telescope, YES! That could satisfy us, but also could just ending up helping us set our destination. :D   First it would be to terraform the Red planet and then to move out from there.

 Personal Greetings from Paul and Kathy Forgive me if I got long winded, there is just so much to share.

I came here in the hopes brothers and sisters are planning building a space-ship in the New World. What a shame.

Anyhows, if anybody else is an, and Jehovah willing we get to explore the void of space, I'd contribute by developing the graviton warp actuator drive. I just need to get the unobtainium first!

Oh, You want plans you say ... Here are some for my proposal.   Subject approval in a some distant future, and bound to be replaced by FAR better ideas.  This is based on current technologies.  In the future IF we are allowed to go to space we will have perfect minds from around the earth gathering knowledge and ideas together.

And yes for at least the next 1000 years we will have the earth to happily take care of first...But remember, that is but one day in an Eternity in Jehovah's eyes.  How long will it take for us to see time in the same way ...?

Starship Infinitis Conceptual Design

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   A Conceptual design of a starship that would provide a gravitational effect to its travelers within.  Both when using Propulsive force when accelerating or decelerating, as well as when Coasting or Orbiting around a gravitational body.  - Wiki Constant acceleration space travel  - Wiki G-force
  The Trip - In its Propulsive Configuration, the ship would use Propulsive Acceleration until half the ships is fuel is halfway expended, at this point the Domes would fold up into its Orbital Configuration and orbit around its Central Core, to give centrifugal gravity until it is time to turn the ship backwards for its Propulsive Deceleration.  The second half of its fuel reserve is used for the ships Propulsive Deceleration to its destination in its folded out Propulsive Configuration. During the ships Deceleration the crew would continue to feel 1 g gravity.
  Central Core - The Central Core contains the main drive section.  When the ship is in Accelerative Propulsion it will give its travelers the feeling of a comfortable 1 g.   The ship will orbit around its central axis to give its 1 g centrifugal gravity.  The central core of the ship is an ideal place to install Antennas, Sensors, various wavelength Telescopes, and Docking bays.
  Domes - Domes, are used for comfortable habitation by its humans as well as animal and plant life.  I envision the inhabitants of the ship living in the upper of the domes themselves rather than in the decks below. Rather I see the decks below the Domes containing Utilities, Repair shops, Storage, Places of entertainment and Art.
  Using the ships two configurations the ship can provide a constant 1 g environment for its passengers.  The two configurations are Orbital and Propulsive.  The size and number of domes the ship has, will depend on the size and needs of the ships crew, and the length of the trips the ship is to make.
  Dome Support Leafs - I see Support Leafs for for Dome support when in Propulsive Configuration.  The Leaf design look is no accident, I have long time liked the idea of the ship following a theme of nature and wanted to start showing it in the conceptual drawings as much is reasonable.  Growing up originally I thought of it as looking like a crab with movable pincers. As time went along I found myself not wanting to use a crab as the analogy.  As time passed and thought has been spent on it sleepless nights, I now envision it with the movements of an unfolding flower. This fits nicely with Support Leafs for the Domes, just as the Domes themselves support life within.  (Eesh, Next thing I will be writing poetry or a ships song.)
  Orbital Configuration - When the ship is in its Orbital Configuration it will be either be coasting, or orbiting a gravitational body.  During times when the ship needs to coast during its trip, or is in orbit around a body the ship orbits around its Central Core.  It would rotate at a rate that gives a comfortable feeling of 1 g gravity for the crew within the domes.
  Propulsive Configuration - The ship is designed to accelerate or decelerate at a rate of around 1g for the comfort of its human crew and animal passengers within the living domes in its Propulsive Configuration, for as long as the ship needs to be Accelerating or Decelerating.
  G-Force Acceleration - The expression "1 g = 9.80665 m/s2" means that for every second that elapses, velocity changes 9.80665 meters per second (≡35.30394 km/h).  This rate of change in velocity can also be denoted as 9.80665 (meter per second) per second, or 9.80665 m/s2.  For example: An acceleration of 1 g equates to a rate of change in velocity of approximately 35 kilometres per hour (22 mph) for each second that elapses.  Therefore, if an automobile is capable of braking at 1 g and is traveling at 35 kilometres per hour (22 mph) it can brake to a standstill in one second and the driver will experience a deceleration of 1 g.  The automobile traveling at three times this speed, 105 km/h (66 mph), can brake to a standstill in three seconds. Constant acceleration space travel    -    Wiki G-force
  Conversely if a space ship was to accelerate at 22 mph (35 kph)  per each second traveled it could accelerate to 66 mph (105 kph) in 3 seconds. Multiply 22 mph x 60 minutes and you would be traveling at 1320 mph in 1 hour.  For the speed we would be traveling in one year(8765.81 hrs) we take 22 x 8765.81 = 192,847.82 mph.
  Just as a thought exercise: To get to the speed of light(670,616,629 mph) we take 670,616,629 mph / 192,847.82 = 3,477.44 years to get to the speed of light. (With einstein's approval)
   Ship Infrastructure - For a the long durations trips a starship will need to make it would have to be fully equipped with shops for  ship repair and for the amusement of the crew.  For entertainment I imagine shops to build, invent, and repair.   Places to enjoy working on Art projects, Music ect.  Telescopes of various wavelengths to enjoy the stars. The Domes will be a delightful to enjoy the plants animals.   With things to keep the travelers busy I do not see the long trips ever getting boring. I invision also the inhabitants of the ship living in the Domes themselves rather than in the decks below. I see the decks below the domes containing Utilities, Repair shops, Storage, Places of Entertainment and Art.
Since I first saw Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, I've always wanted wings.  The angels are quite happy with them, flitting about from up there to down here.   Although I spose I'll have to have some sort of oxygen contraption, but I'm sure one of you clever brothers and sisters will devise one for those of us who would like to fly.   Imagine swooping around like Tinkerbell, zipping here and there, skidding to a halt when necessary.  I could track all sorts of things by flying overhead, even join the larger birds soaring in the skies.  There's enough on the earth to keep me happy without wanting to go out into space.   Isn't it nice that we're all different?
