No.its like listening to classical music and then someone ... who will remain nameless... comes in with loud rock music. Both are good but not together.

NZ bacon is streaky and cooked to be crispy ... usually. Manuka cured bacon is a good seller.

When I was growing up in 50s and 60s England, streaky bacon was the only bacon I knew of that existed and the only bacon we ever ate. 

When it became known as American bacon I have no idea, but I first noticed it when I went home in 2011. It was always known as streaky bacon when I was young, and you could have it smoked or green - which didn't mean it was mouldy, just not smoked. 😅

 

Back bacon is a fairly modern phenomenon in my experience, designed by the commercial system for those who are averse to animal fats but still want to say they like bacon. 🙄🤣

 

Streaky bacon is freely available here in Oz and still just called that - streaky - but it sits alongside the back bacon. Like Amanda, we have honey streaky available as well.

Since the topic is bacon, here's something I found: a Yankee Candle bacon candle! I thought it was a joke at first, but at an outlet center near my area, there it was sitting on a shelf in all its bacon-y glory. I didn't buy it, but I wanted to so I could show people it's real.

Not many people will say that eating bacon every day is the key to a long life, but the world’s oldest woman swears by it.

I must say I don't LOVE Bacon as much as some people claim to.  Love is a powerful word.  I think Bacon is OK.
