Our Newly Remodeled Munising, Michigan USA KH :D

Today was the first day back in our old, barely recognizable now, Kingdom Hall here in Munising, Michigan USA.  

A visiting brother from the Branch LDC gave the first Public Talk, a Brother Williams.

Love love love our New and Improved KH, but I was a bit surprised to find it looking so antiseptic.  By that, I mean devoid of

silk plants and decorative objects.  When you see the side-by-side pics of our old hall, you will see why the transformation was so surprising.

I'm sure the no-decor decor surprise will grow to be a pleasant one...with the help of a little time and a lot of prayer.

The four paintings we do have hanging are part and parcel of the complete LDC plan package for our remodel project.

We also now have central air-conditioning, which we put to immediate use in the 80 degree high humidity conditions.

You’re just missing one of the new stage area

Just curious, since you did not post a picture showing the entry door from inside the entry lobby ... is there an area inside the front door with a different color or type/texture of carpet?

 

The Halls I have done with the carpet squares have all had "walk-off" carpet inside the entry door. Some of them have used black walk-off but the last one I did had walk-off that matched the rest of the carpet.

Just dug these blurry shots out of my computer's Recycle Bin:

Haven't taken a shine to that particular feature...yet. ; ) 

Another thing that I will have to adjust to are the super bright ceiling lights that glare in

your eyes when you are looking up at the platform.  May need to wear tinted lenses.  

At least the exits are only locked on the outside now, so you don't have to find someone on security to unlock the door so you can leave.  I am sure that was a fire code violation on our old hall.  

 

So many streamlined POSITIVE things about our remodel.

Your KH looks great, Sis Rosanne! It looks like any KH in my area or the wider region. Even the way people dress is similar. Now that is quite interesting. So global JW culture does exist after all then.

When I first saw this picture (also on my tablet’s homepage) on the wall I wished I could remember the publication it came from.

Most of the walls are ivory with some gray walls for contrast.
