Russia invades Ukraine

Hm yes, but based on my experiences with refugees from Ukraine they do it on the basis of valid Ukrainian documents. Poland said they will start to deport them if they don't have valid Ukrainian documents. In Poland there are reportedly 200.000 men of such age that Ukraine wants to have them back...

Under the UN convention on refugees, host countries have to issue identification and travel papers to stateless refugees, and that is what all this men will become when their papers expire.

As in other things Poland and other countries related, we need to separate government action from individual persons intention.

Know this my beloved brothers, I am not a native English speaker.

Please be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James 1:19)

There is big difference between status of refugee and displaced person.

So depends how Poland wants to interpret the definition.

Poland has suggested it will help transfer Ukrainian men of fighting age back to their homeland, as Kyiv seeks to shore up its depleted armed forces...https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/04/25/poland-deport-ukraine-conscription-russia-war/

A stateless person is not considered a national of any country. A refugee is someone who has fled their country to escape conflict or persecution and has crossed an international border. While most refugees have a nationality, a person can be both stateless and a refugee.
