If humans don't learn from history, or care about it, they repeat too many errors. I love history too! It matters.

Going from precious metals backing the financial system, to financiers printing what isn't real at all has caused so much harm, with things spiralling downwards.

Yes, a bit of 'bank mattress' was learned by older ones and not a bad idea, though 'cash is trash' compared to tangible, scarce commodities like silver and gold, going up crazily on the stock market, of late, with a little bit of a correction today. 

Of course, whatever we try to do to put a little away for a rainy day, being shrewd to 'conceal ourselves' to a point, can help. However, it can 'take wings and fly away' as the Word warns

In the end, trusting that Jehovah will help us cope with whatever situation we find ourselves in - that is the best approach at heart, with these things as practical measures, but secondary.

A little encouragement for those who feel sadness like me!

It is moving to think that everything we do in this system is reaching its appointed end:

the last meeting, the last celebration — once and for all —,

the last assembly, the last convention,

the last field service, the last Broadcasting,

the last magazines.

Then the new system promised by Jehovah will come…

the first meeting, the first assembly, the first convention,

the first field service, the first Broadcasting,

the first magazines, under a righteous and everlasting government.

May that day come quickly.

We are tired of this wicked system.

Our hearts wait in faith for the fulfillment of Jehovah’s promises:

life in the perfect Paradise here on Earth.

“Let your Kingdom come.”

Come quickly, Sovereign Lord Jehovah.

Come, Jesus!
