The Doomsday Clock...

This clock is irrelevant in Jehovah's timetable, even if it's referenced in jw.org. It was only created by someone who has absolutely no idea of the real deal ahead. So don't base any assumptions off this 'doomsday' clock. I personally would not even mention it even in convos.

But if it's mentioned on jw.org and takes into account what scientists think, why not talk about it? This subject can lead to Kingdom topics, great for starting conversations.

That really is the only useful purpose for the Doomsday Clock. We know it does not indicate how close we are to doomsday or Armageddon. Those we talk to in the ministry, however, do not have our faith or am accurate understanding of what doomsday really is.

My opinion is that, once the prophecy of "Peace and Security" is fulfilled that the Doomsday Clock will be set back to the farthest from midnight it has ever been set to. To date the farthest from midnight was 17 minutes in 1991.  I would not be surprised if the clock is set to 1 hour before midnight right before Armageddon.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

That's what led to the stalling statement OP mentioned earlier. Well I agree, as with any topic, there will be differing viewpoints and opinions, I've personally seen some friends take up topics thinking it'd be a great starter, only to regret later. But if it helps, I'm all in.

Measles Resurgence

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention yesterday reported at least 733 confirmed measles cases nationwide so far this year—more than four times the annual average of 180 cases from 2000 to 2024. See dashboard.

The nationwide update, which often lags behind state-level counts, comes as South Carolina reported 920 measles cases yesterday, including 44 new infections since Tuesday. Of those infected with the respiratory virus in South Carolina, 840 are unvaccinated, and 824 are under 18. Overall, roughly 57% of cases confirmed by the CDC are among people aged 5 to 19. Experts attribute the nationwide rise in measles cases to a growing number of parents declining vaccines for their children over concerns about potential side effects.

The US recorded 2,276 measles cases last year—its highest total since the nation declared measles eliminated in 2000 following high vaccination rates. Last year, the share of kindergarteners vaccinated against measles nationwide also fell below 93%. Experts say herd immunity is typically achieved at around 95% coverage.

Explore the best resources we've found on measles here.

Yhe post yesterday goes along somewhat with Bible prophecy, but it is limited.  The diseases mentioned are only in the US for now, but the prophecy is worldwide.

Here in our country, measles are occuring even there are efforts of vaccination. There are claims that some children died after vaccination. Heart breaking news.

The Doomsday Clock

I wish we had a Restoration Clock that showed how close we are the New System.

I think we are symbolically 85 seconds to sunrise...

Here's a thought, might seem "out there" to a lot of you.  It seems to me that Trump has his nose in everything, he is basically causing chaos all around the world with the tariffs and the comments about other world leaders.  He has already invaded Venezuela and wants Greenland and Canada and acts on what he believes to be real news stories when they aren't.  Plus this whole thing with ICE in this country causing protests and chaos.  What if all the other countries got together and said "We have to stop this man" and realized that the only way to do it was give the United Nations the authority to do what they wanted? If that happened, would the UN even need the support of the United States with such a majority to take over?  Just saying , it would be interesting if the UN got it's teeth despite the US, not because of their support.

The strange part is the Security Council.  Five nations (U.S., U.K., France, Russia, and China), one veto from one of those nations can stop the U.N. from taking any action.  Somehow the government in Taiwan was replaced by the mainland Chinese government years ago.

I believe that fear of the US, which used to be the "leader of the so-called free world", could be the excuse the nations use when they do Jehovah's thoughts and give their power to the UN.  How would they get around the US veto on things they want to do.

Serious? Depends on your point of view. It was serious enough that England's Prince Andrew lost his royal titles and status because of his connection to Epstein.

The Epstein situation is pretty serious and gross from a moral standpoint. Man owned a private island where he used underage girls to have sex with many rich, powerful, important, and prominent people. If their involvement ever was revealed their carriers could be over and they could fall into disgrace like Prince Andrew or maybe face criminal charges. That is if anyone actually cares. The sad fact is that these type of situations are more often used by powerful people to pressure or influence those involved. Such powerful people do not care about the lives of the victims.

As for if this is a distraction, that also depends on someone's point of view. Distract from what? There are a number of major situations right now. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) procedures are resulting in turmoil in the US. The economy is always a factor. The war in Ukraine is ongoing. While tensions may have lessened in the Middle East, Hezbollah and Israel still hate each other. Trumps Board of Peace is attracting attention. The US is still involved in Venezuela in some fashion. This is just off the top of my head. People will pick whichever topic is most important to them and then claim the other topics are distractions.

The distractions is actually total chaos.  One crisis after another so that people are unable to focus on anything.  Some members of the Trump family call "Donald" the most dangerous man in the world.  Everyone has an opinion.

Interesting that according to UN Statute such country as Russia is absent in Security Council.

There is still USSR instead.

When USSR has broken up General UN Asamblee has raised condition when Russia can replace USSR.

It should be only if ALL the 15 fromer Soviet Republics agreed with that, but Georgia and Baltic countries has banned this. And it never will be.

So strictly told Russia has legal problems as a part of Security Council. Maybe with a different General Secretary of UN this question will be raised again, who knows..

Warning/ Guterres: Global economy must surpass GDP to avoid planetary catastrophe - Kosova & Bota

For decades, politicians and policymakers have prioritized growth, measured by GDP, as the primary economic goal. But critics argue that endless, indiscriminate growth on a planet with limited resources is fueling not only the climate and environmental crises, but also rising inequality.

Economic growth measured by GDP can hide poverty, inequality, violence, and human rights abuses. The UN aims to complement GDP with broader indicators to assess real human well-being, equality, and environmental sustainability. This move follows warnings that current economic models ignore climate shocks, which could threaten global economic stability.

World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2026

The numbers tell a sobering story. Nearly one-third of global GDP (approximately $31 trillion) faces high water stress by 2050. Today, 2.1 billion people still lack access to safe drinking water. The global water cycle is increasingly "out of balance," delivering too much water in some places (catastrophic floods), too little in others (severe droughts), and water that's too polluted almost everywhere. This isn't a future risk, it's a present crisis affecting supply chains, agricultural production, and human security.

The AI-Environment Paradox

By 2030, global data centers could consume 945 terawatt-hours annually. That’s more than Germany and France combined. Approximately 20% of electricity demand growth may come from AI-related computing. Water stress from cooling data centers compounds freshwater scarcity in regions already facing shortages.

Beyond the Noise: Key Takeaways from Davos 2026 - CO2 AI

Ecclesiastes 8:9: "during the time that man has dominated man to his harm."

Revelation 11:17, 18: “We thank you, Jehovah God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and begun ruling as king... and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”
