Peace and Security, Great Tribulation, Armageddon

Oh please... actually I watched this event live. I didn't take this from any political commentators. I was watching live, and when this gesture happened I was just... What?? Maybe we Europeans are just more sensitive to this. My reaction would be exactly the same if that would be made by Trump, Elon, Biden, Kamala or actually any other person. No political side to this at all, please don't put that badge to me. Thank you.

I agree it doesn’t matter who you’re talking about....I never said that was the problem.

No matter which leader we start naming and criticizing and having a knee jerk reaction to every perceived misstep. This is a common theme here. We just had a topic that illustrates the danger in these comments. Brother Jackson in a talk said specifically...we need to 'avoid critiquing specific current leaders by name’. Anybody remember which talk that was?

Anyway, you're welcome to send brother Jackson a letter and tell him not to put that badge on you. Im just the messenger. :coffee:

Agreed. If I'm going to be arrested in this system I don't want it to be because some worldy person misconstrued a minor comment about a politician and decided I was taking "the wrong side".

Can we all make it a goal to be arrested for a good reason? Anyone?

I feel the same way. Most of the prophesies are on the way. Now we see and understand the partiality and soon we will see the clarity.

Me. And the good reason must be Jehovah, Jesus and the Kingdom.

Things will be turning around soon and we’ll be hearing that word “Peace” a lot.

I believe Jesus made a disparaging comment about Herod. He called him a 'Fox'.

(Luke 13:31, 32) 31 In that very hour some of the Pharisees came up and told him: “Get out and go away from here, because Herod wants to kill you.” 32 And he said to them: “Go and tell that fox, ‘Look! I am casting out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will be finished.’

Jesus also knocked over the tables, whipping and clearing out the money grubbers....but that does mean WE are now justified in doing such things. Jesus will ultimately Judge Herod.

The FS never mentions Trump or Biden except that Trump was nearly assassinated, showing the growing violence. Then they quote Biden mentioning a nuclear armageddon. So it appears that the message is to avoid it direct criticism of specific current leaders. So the appearance is always Nuetrallity. Our neutrality has saved lives.

I got a private message from a brother here who makes a good point. There are people on the outside looking in on this forum and If we allow ourselves to start bashing specific politicians here by name....how in the world can we say we are neutral?

I’ve been embarrassed several times over the years by some well meaning friends who at a public meeting mention the  president by Name and proceed to bash him......giving all newcomers the impression that we aren not neutral.  The opposite of what we should do.

We’ve even been counseled in the past not to bash a specific religion by name but to couch our remarks so as not to offend any visitors that may be a member of the church being bashed.  I recall years ago a sister calling "Catholics stupid”..... Lot of good that did.

But this topic of politics and politicians  is a burning topic today and so easy to get sucked into. I think it is very wise and discreet advice from the FS to be neutral in our speech and actions.....even in our thoughts, which is much much more difficult.

The FS urges neutrality, not just because we only support God’s Kingdom....but because they know if our neutrality were to disappear somehow......we would also lose our unity very quickly.

The best advice I've seen so far. Yes, it is difficult. I occasionally get jokes disparaging certain politicians by name. I give a chuckle then delete. Well, ... , most of the time. :blushing:

Not just neutral in our speech or typed word either, but in our thoughts. Our thoughts leak out into our hearts then our mouths.

Just a note, that the less we have an opinion, either negative or positive, the less daunted we will be if/when we stand before them.

Regarding neutrality. If we remember that timeframe before WW2. We understand that Jehovah revealed to his people at just the right time what neutrality really is and this helped them to stay neutral under heavy pressure during WW2. It is interesting though that organization at that time wrote very heavy words to German leader at that time, Adolf Hitler. Even warning him that God will destroy his party and him personally if he doesn't stop prosecuting God's people. Guess what happened few years later. Still, I think, that letter like that is something what we cannot imagine happening today. So understanding of neutrality today is additionally refined. Well, maybe it is not just about neutrality, but to be more in accordance with Jesus words to love and pray for those that are persecuting us.
