US Election Outcome

Recommended Posts

Be no part of the world, while living in it. No wonder this was a matter of deep prayer for Jesus just before his death. He prayed earnestly that God would protect his followers from Satan. I try to keep in mind that Satan is the master manipulator. He divided God's heavenly family and manipulated a perfect woman to do his bidding. Now he has the whole world to use to manipulate us.

As much as we strive to remain neutral, the world’s influences are constant. It's no surprise that we can sometimes guess a person's preferred news source just by their conversations. Living in this world means we are exposed to its messages daily. But how do we maintain strict neutrality from politics while being influenced by it? Consider what Satan did to Eve. With just a few words, he manipulated her to believe that his idea was a good idea. This is exactly what political forces aim to do—they want you to take a side even if only in our mind. When you do, it’s as though you're saying, “Yes, if they did that, things would work out.” And when we believe that, even subtly, it inevitably comes out in our speech and actions.

I know of friends who went out in service, only to start discussing a popular controversial news topic. The discussion escalated to the point that they began arguing and shouting at each other, and their service ended abruptly. Satan won in that moment. I sometimes hear friends using political jargon or repeating talking points, and I ask them gently, “When you say that, who are you identifying yourself with?” I know they don’t mean to align with the world, but it shows just how influential Satan really is and why we so deeply need that prayer from Jesus. Fight the good fight dear friends.

Also noted but we don't know even what source of conspiracy theories come from. It could be within government itself or other countries try make you conspired and overall make you side with political opinions overall. Think about this Satan display himself angel of light. So in surface light of conspiracy theories could be making sense. But need think pseudo evidence that is provided to make these conspiracy theories. Overall we must use our intelligence and guidance source of the bible and respect human government even though we side with God Government. We all know source of information we receive from organization of Jehovah Witness have best provided information based off analyzing source and providing links and even papers that bring in summon with actual facts. We even have whole department do proper research. So if we based our news outlet based off that we don't need worried what maybe outcome human government. We be rest assure that God government has our best interest and there no to look into conspiracy theories to have different outlook of political or human life. Because Jehovah God has our best interest. Think about the time when spies came back to tell what happen but majority what was city like and I am referring to a bible account that sent spies to explore about city but majority spies made up lies and other two spies left over said not to worried and how Jehovah God is with them. So modern time we must trust what is explain to be true. Honestly Governing Body may know more information about world event than average person. In my opinion we must trust God and overall to be assure to not feel inclined toward conspiracy theories. I know have weakness to look into conspiracy theories. But I know for my own spirituality I must rely on Jehovah God and not trust such information. What you sow you will reap. So planting any invalid information will consequently change subconscious and unconscious too resulting for conscious to view the world constantly anxiety and fear. So we must feed good knowledge from the bible and feed our subconscious with good spiritual food. But anyway I figure I share this with you guys about my opinion about conspiracy theories.

Not yet. Everyone, do not worry about me. Worry about those who want to attack me because I am surrounded by Judge Rutherford’s Rainbow Books and Pastor Russell Studies in the Scriptures. They would wish they never got hit with one of those books.

I'll say the news of ballot boxes getting set ablaze most certainly qualifies as a sign. It then depends on how widespread!

A worldly friend who is an internal medicine doctor just called me up, explaining that he's stacked up on hard drinks. He's worried about the election, implying that he'd have wished to have no horse in this presidential race like me! This is because many of our Bible discussions are being called to mind.

This election reminds me of an encounter with an extreme Trump supporter while out in service a few years ago, during Trump's time in office. This guy was selling hotdogs on a street corner, and his cart was filled with propaganda and supportive printout images of Trump. I wanted to walk past him at first. My partner in service decided to walk up to him and talk. She began with a broad topic: discussing the general state of the world and if there's any hope. The Trump supporter got a bit political in his views of course. I thought my partner and I were talking to a brick wall--going nowhere. But she was tactful and respectful. In the end, she handed the "Who Rules the World?" tract to this guy. Plus, he invited her to come back another time to talk! I learned a lot from my partner that day.

Since many of the decisions made by the President of the US affect the whole world, wouldn't it be interesting if the whole world was able to vote for who would be the President?

Wouldn't it be interesting if they added the United Nations to the Electoral College process?

Each member nation would add their vote to the UN and the UN would be included in the Electoral College. That would be interesting...:lol1:

Obama  implemented policies allowing transgender individuals to serve in the military openly. The Trump reversed these policies, citing potential impacts on military readiness, cohesion, and medical costs. However, President Biden quickly reinstated the Obama policies, allowing transgender individuals to serve openly once again.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

On the home page of jw.org, the article "Which Leader Will You Choose?" makes this very point where it says "Even the most capable leaders will eventually die.  Furthermore, they cannot guarantee that any of their good works will be continued by those who come after them."

It's more likely that the other side will undo as much as possible.  Not because it was bad policy, but just to erase the legacy of the previous administration.   Like children, doing something "just because".

bro, the householder is free to attempt to talk or express political or conspiratorial views. The onus is on us to drive that towards bible message and remain neutral…

Right. They may express an opinion.   We don't open that door for them.

Then how would you know what they are thinking about? My neighbor who might vote just told me that both sides are corrupted, then I point to towards to heaven and say he is not and she agreed. We both had an agreement.

Any one else's meeting switched to Zoom meeting this election day and Zoom congregation field service the day after election day? Because of being in a problem city and state.

There is some talk about it here but, we meet on the Tuesday day of election.  The results will not be in till possibly after midnight.  The following day could be a problem.

We will attend our meeting but, there are others that meet Wednesdays and Thursdays.  They might zoom.

As of now the elders are talking about it.

I think we could bring up government at the door.....and how incompetent man’s rule has been.

and God’s promise of his Kingdom rule by JC.

Jeremiah 10:23 “I well know, O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”

Ecclesiastes 8:9 (New World Translation): “All of this I have seen, and I applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, during the time that man has dominated man to his harm.”

If they make comments about a particular political candidate, we don’t have to agree or disagree....just redirect to the real solution etc....

alway redirect, and stay neutral.  :coffee:

Our body will meet Sunday before the meeting and talk about what we'll do.

I live in California which is predominantly a Democratic state. I live in an area of mostly college-educated people who are Democratic leaning. The likelihood that there'll be some kind of trouble here is slim, but we'll talk about it.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Personally, I wouldn't insinuate that either side of the aisle is incompetent because you never know who is a rabid supporter and will take offense. I would ask them a general question about whether they think government can solve mankind's problems. Whether they say yes or no, you can ask if they will solve problems like world instability, the aging process, bringing the dead back to life etc. Then focus on the solution.

This is what is on the homepage of jw.org. It's written like a presentation

https://www.jw.org/en/library/series/more-topics/bible-about-leadership/

You could actually say this at the door

People are making important decisions about which leaders they will choose.

 What does the Bible say?

The Bible identifies a limitation that all human leaders have.

“Do not put your trust in princes nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation. His breath goes out, he returns to the ground; on that very day his thoughts perish.”—Psalm 146:3, 4, footnote.

Then you can follow up with

Is there anyone who can provide good leadership today?

At this point you can leave it as a question to answer on a follow up, or direct the householder to jw.org

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Try not to get nabbed for campaigning near the polling stations! Remember, they don't know which "party" until they get you into custody:laugh:

Rather than avoid the topic of the election, our meeting for service was directed as, "for tomorrows meeting for service, we'll discuss the article on jw.org homepage about, Which Leader Will You Choose?
What Does the Bible Say?"

"Let all things take place decently and by arrangement."

So far in this election I have avoided any discussion of politics. I live in a retirement community with a VERY high proportion of retired military. Typically I eat alone. I avoid participating in any of their "extracirricular" activities (so many of them are military, political, holiday, etc., oriented).

However, in prior election years, as a Certified Public Accountant, I have had multiple questions from clients as to which candidate would be best for the client's circumstances.

The best success I have had in avoiding unpleasantness has been to refer to Jeremiiah 10:23. After letting the client reflect for a moment I ask "If man cannot solve things, what hope do we have?" Then I point them to the "Lord's Prayer" or "Our Father Prayer" (depending on whether I knew if they were Catholic or Protestant). I would lead them through each phrase, emphasize the order in which Jesus lists the things for which to pray. When they get to "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done"  I say, "Jesus told us the answer. It is up to God, not man."

In one instance, a brother whom I had known for years worked for a client. Two days after a telephone discussion with the particular client, the brother called me to tell me his boss said he had a telephone discussion with me about the bible and his boss said "he really enjoyed it."

I have not had success in converting any of these discussions into something meaningful, but at least it gave me a way to avoid unpleasentness and (hopefully) give them something scriptural to think about.

Thanks,

Jim
