2024 Service Year Report

Recommended Posts

Big increases in many African countries. Congo,Mozambique,Zambia.
Also Phillipines had a nice increase.
Turkey had a decrease of 11%?
Decreases in Cuba, Haiti and Ukraine.
Many European countries plus USA had a small increase.
The harvesting is still on!
Türkiye has a big decrease indeed. It is a country where many need-greaters go. But sadly, in the last few years, the government made it more difficult for foreigners to stay. So, many foreign need-greaters had to leave the country

Sudan, a 73% decrease.

The civil war there is terrible
The number of congregations dropped from 13 last year to just 3 this year.

Memorial attendance dropped from around 2500 last year to 42 this year.

They need our constant prayers!

(Jehovah is providing for them. From not so long ago, they receive every month their Watchtower in their spoken Arabic dialect. For the Arabic field, that is groundbreaking!!)

Am I the only one that noticed that Azerbaijan's percentage change over the 2024 SY is reported wrongly.

According to the 2024 report, Azerbaijan had a -9% decrease in average publishers:

But if we consult the 2023 report we find that this country had an average of 1,713 publishers, which means an increase of 133 publishers over last service year . That means that the actual percentage change over the 2024 SY was more like 8%.Screenshot_20241231_173725_Xodo.jpg.16b719ad7b7eb050967accd5458edc21.jpg

I hope I'm not seeing things that are not there.

Is is possible there were incomplete records for past years in certain areas and now that they have been caught up it's actually a decrease?

That could be, of course, but it wouldn't be the first time that a small mistake was published in the report.
If I'm not mistaken, last year or the year before, there was a mistake on the report of Zambia or Zimbabwe. The brothers solved it and updated the report in a week or so

I check Scandinavia.

Norway +1%

Sweden: - (same)

Denmark: +1%

And then Nordic countries.

Finland: +1%

Iceland: +10%

Greenland: +9%

Faroe Islands +1%

- - -

I am always fascinated by growth in countries where the publisher/inhabitant ratio is lower than 1/400. ❤️

- - -

Something I wonder about, though. Has anyone done the math on world population versus total number of publishers. Yes, we increase in numbers, but is it relative to the actual increase in world population, too?

Are we increasing percentagewise relative to the world population?

How many witnesses percentagewise  relative to world population in the 20's, 30's, 40's and so forth.

I think in Norway it is fewer per capita now than in the 70's. Immigration from non-"christian" cultures could factor in. IDK.

If I’m right, it should under book brochures and it’s not under them https://www.jw.org/en/library/books/?start=0
It's there, but just not in the main list [All items].
If you go to "Books and Brochures" and then change "All items" to "2024 Service Year Report of Jehovah's Witnesses Worldwide", you'll find it under "Books and Brochures".

The new report shows a further increase in the number of Celebration attendees, from 22,312 to 23,212.

This is consistent with the Annual Meeting discourse.

Christ’s brothers would need to be alive and well and increasingly prominent in order to fulfill the part of the parable of the sheep and the goats that people would be judged based on whether or not they supported them.
