I remember saying something about a big log and how, as a kid, I used to help my dad get wood. Well here's what we used to cut. There was lots of them laying around. And cutting them was awesome.  First he had to cut the log into 16" rounds, cutting first one side then the other then using a wedge to pop it apart. Dad put the wedge in the center of the round, lining up with the visible slit, and cut it in 1/2. Then he set up the halves and went around them like a piece of pie, pop, pop, pop each wedge came off. They were too long of a wedge so he chopped the wedges in half. I used to use some of those wedges for kindling and small wood for the cook stove in the kitchen, I have a pic of it here somewhere.

Memories that will serve me well later.

Costasiella Kuroshimae, a species of sacoglossan sea slug.

This little creature sucks the chlorophill out of sea plants and
incorporates it into its own cells.  This phenomenon is called
kleptoplasty.

Some call these slugs 'solar-powered'. http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/solarpow

I just call 'em cuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!  ^_^

I was given permission to share this pic. A sister in a neighboring cong. has a granddaughter (10) who had her spleen removed and is now susceptible to infection. She got one in her toe and is possibly facing surgery. Her mom wrote about her on FB (they're in a Seattle hospital) and asked if Russell Wilson of the Seahawks could come visit her. Not only did he visit but a member from another team showed up as well. How kind of Wilson to do this for her.

The photo was taken which year, peanuts?

Sent from my C6802 using Tapatalk

Someone had written 1945 on the back of the photo, although looking at the size of my dad I wonder if it is actually 1946. No Idea who took it. I know that it's taken in Chelmsford (a city in Essex, UK) high street.

My aunt has these random collections of photos scattered about her house. She had Alzheimer's and dementia now, be interesting to see if any other gems turn up when her house is properly sorted out.
