Anybody hear anything about France supporting or financing Russian ban?

Any truth to this?

I read somewhere that the UN was actually getting mad with Russia over their abuse of human rights... Perhaps if ECHR made a ruling and Russia blatantly ignore it, the UN would step in like their talking about doing with North Korea and Iran? Hmm...Things on the world scene could get interesting...

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

When reading the book of Daniel for our midweek meeting it is obvious that there are always enemies of Jehovah's people intent on causing problems. Daniel was thrown in the lions den because of their schemes. However in the end they are the ones who suffer the worst fate because they are really fighting against Jehovah.

Scroll back to page 169 on this thread I revealed all about FECRIS European  links to all this written of in this article back there. They are a group with members all over Europe that could cause us problems even in UK with their 'fake news' methods of discrediting any organisation they don't like under the guise of 'extreme cult/sect prevention' throughout the Western World. It's not conspiracy in the sense of 'sensationalist rumour', it is 'conspiring' by sending information they gathered from detractors/critics to help the Russians that they hoped will help to get us banned, they use the same tactics wherever they go and have a cover of respectability by becoming a United Nations NGO and getting themselves on or affiliated some respected 'Boards' in Europe, and I feel these organisations have not checked who they are allowing to be their members/affiliates and don't realise that some of FECRIS' members actually stand in opposition to what these larger organisations are supposed to stand for.

That's why this article should be discussed for family worship:

Winning the Battle for Your Mind

YOU are under attack! And your chief enemy, Satan, is using a very dangerous weapon against you. What is it? Propaganda! A weapon specially designed to attack, not your body, but your mind.

Remembering that at the top of everything is Satan and his demons we really shouldn't be surprised. It happened in the first century and it's happening now,  (Acts 17:6, 7) . . .When they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers to the city rulers, crying out: “These men who have overturned the inhabited earth are present here also, 7 and Jason has received them as his guests. All these men act in opposition to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king, Jesus.. . .

Lets all remember (1 Thessalonians 5:17) . . .Pray incessantly. . .and (2 Timothy 4:2) . . .Preach the word; be at it urgently in favourable times and difficult times; . . .

Jehovah has it under control.

Jehovah's Witnesses ask the Ombudsman to appeal against the decision of the Supreme Court

10 October 2017

On October 9, 2017, Jehovah's Witnesses sent Tatyana Moskalkova, the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Russian Federation, a complaint against the decision of the Supreme Court of Russia of April 20, 2017. Believers ask the Ombudsman to use the right to appeal the court decision that came into force.

Among other things, the Ombudsman's attention is drawn to the massive, growing human rights violations that followed the court's ruling. We are talking about a surge of aggression and vandalism against believers, about raids by law enforcers, on surveillance of believers, about collecting personal information, including about minors, about refusals to provide alternative civilian service, about discrimination in the world of work, about arrests of believers and even about imprisonment.

Believers hope that after reading the case materials Tatyana Moskalkova considers it necessary to apply to the presidium of the Supreme Court of Russia with a demand to annul an unreasonable and unlawful court decision.

How wonderful! Our brothers there are using every available legal means to reverse the unjust Russian ban! They refuse to give up! What courage! :bible2:

The Battle Over Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia

25 October 2017

Excerpts:

Quote

Russia and the European Court of Human Rights

The Supreme Court decision and other governmental actions taken against the Witnesses are being contested by both public opinion the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

Quote

Currently, the ECtHR considers 32 cases involving Jehovah’s Witnesses and Russia. This includes the case of the March 2nd 2016 warning, issued by the Prosecutor General’s office to liquidate the Witnesses’ administrative centre in the country.

The ECtHR is going to consider Russia’s decision to deem Witnesses’ literature and actions extremist as urgent, under Rule 41 of the Convention. Ten other cases concern raids on Witness congregations, out of which four deal with home searches and literature confiscation, and the other involve prosecution for evangelising and ban on religious literature.

How the ECtHR rules on the many cases against Russia, especially those concerning the church delegalisation, and how the Russian government responds to those rulings, will reveal much about the future of the Court’s influence. It will also say a lot about the rule of law and religious freedoms in Russia.

District Court of Orel Extends Pre-trial Detention of Dennis Christensen for another Three Months!

20 Nov. 2017

On November 20, 2017, a judge of the Sovietsky District Court of Orel decided to leave behind the law-abiding Jehovah's Witness, extending his detention until February 23, 2018.

A local resident, Dennis Kristensen, who has Danish citizenship and is married to Orlovtsy, was arrested on May 25, 2017 while studying the Bible, at which he attended with his wife Irina. FSB officers investigating the case unreasonably stated that Christensen "continued" the activities of the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in Orel, which was liquidated by a court decision. Meanwhile, the believer in this organization has never been, in which the court could easily be convinced by simply looking at the documents received from the local justice department. During the six months since Christensen was arrested, FSB investigators interviewed dozens of residents of the Orel region and other regions, trying to gather evidence of any unlawful activities of the believer.

Judge Andrei Tretyakov, during a 3-hour hearing, did not comply with the defense's motion to replace the preventive measure with a softer one, such as house arrest. The court also failed to take into account the official guarantees of the Royal Embassy of Denmark, which for humanitarian reasons gave assurances that it would not provide Christensen with a new passport to replace the one seized by the investigators and would not assist him in traveling outside the Russian Federation.

The fact that the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Orel was liquidated and its activities prohibited, does not abolish the right of "everyone" (that is, not only a Russian citizen) to freedom of religion, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation. According to the Basic Law of the country, everyone is guaranteed freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, including the right to individually or jointly with others to profess any religion, freely choose, have and disseminate religious and other beliefs and act in accordance with them. The main occupation of Dennis Christensen in Orel was the installation of wooden structures, he was in Orel for personal reasons, and not at the invitation of any organization.

Dennis Christensen is completely innocent.

My prayer for Brother Christensen and his wife Irina continues! :bible2:

Russian Authorities Attempt to Seize Foreign Property

4 December 2017

On December 7, 2017, at 14:00, the Sestroretsky District Court of St. Petersburg will begin consideration of a lawsuit filed by the prosecutor's office aimed at removing a large real estate complex in St. Petersburg from the "Watchtower Society, Bibles and Treatises of Pennsylvania" foreign organization.

We are talking about 14 buildings with an area of 33 thousand square meters, located on 10 hectares of landscaped territory in the village of Solnechnoye Resort area of St. Petersburg. This complex has been openly owned since 2000 by the "Watchtower Society" - an association operating since 1884, serving the interests of Jehovah's Witnesses all over the world.

The Russian Federation did not finance the construction of the complex. The abandoned pioneer camp was acquired on a commercial basis by Jehovah's Witnesses from one of the Russian enterprises. The ownership of this complex belonging to the Watchtower Society was officially registered by the authorized bodies of the Russian Federation and for 17 years it was not disputed by anyone. For these years, the "Watchtower Society" as the owner of real estate transferred tens of millions of rubles to the Russian budget in the form of taxes.

Contrary to official statements on the inviolability of private property in the Russian Federation, the prosecutor's office, by its actions, damages the country's business reputation. No one can feel protected in a state in which the property rights of even foreign associations on an international scale are openly violated.

A hearing chaired by Judge Bogdanova NL will be held on December 7 at 14:00 in the Sestroretsk District Court at the address: Sestroretsk, ul. Volodarsky, 41.

Seizing the property of an international organization and threatening your international business reputation which will have dire global repercussions? (Dumb move, Russia.)

Now I am looking forward to December 20. Want to hear Krukova( a maths teacher) and other "experts" answer the lawyers' questions.

I'm absolutely sure our Lawyer brothers will demolish any arguments that the NWT is not a REAL bible because it contains the name of God.  That said, I also believe that the decision has already been made and that they will indeed ban the NWT.  This is a systematic attempt to suppress Jehovah's Witnesses and I don't think they will let a little thing like their law, European law or international law stand in their way.

What is more interesting is the repurcussions when a modern day Souvereign state for the first time (to my knowledge) bans the bible (or at leas *a* bible translation); the Orthodox church will no doubt clap their hands with glee and do a victory dance but the door will once again be open for anti-religious measures and if the other churches think their political "lovers" won't turn on THEM the have not been paying attention to Revelasion chapter 18
