What's the Weather like where you live?

Yes, more particularly in New York City commonly known as Manhattan.

And you will like it too. I've lived here all my life yet never tire of it even the noise and fast pace (though I would love to visit/move to Virginia, the place of the real happy part of my childhood minus the turmoil).

How is the weather in New York at the end of July and beginning of August ?

More like "When is winter coming back?!"

A lot though depends though on your tolerance, and temperance. But seriously New Yorkers as a whole are known for our "spirit of complaint." So if you're planning to visit us, and it sounds like you are, pay no attention to that spirit. Just enjoy yourself!

And drink a lot of water, carry a bottle around with you at all times, stay hydrated. I heard on the radio one time that "if you feel thirsty it's too late...you're dehydrated." Interesting huh? So the key is not to feel thirsty.

Right now it's in the 80s and, according to the radio weather report kinda humid.

Yesterday though was horribly hot and humid.

I was planning to go out today but decided to stay in. Why? Because I went out yesterday, and think maybe I shouldn't have, because I think I did too much walking in the "sauna."

I started at around 7:30am, went to the store for breakfast of two yogurt cups, then decided to visit a RiteAid for pantyhose, then felt thirsty so stopped by a McDonald's for a medium Sprite, then walked, it felt, all over the United States it felt that hot, because I missed the bus, then got on another bus arriving, then walked in the hall for service meeting, but I knew I did too much even in that little bit of time because of not being able to greet the friends as normally.

One of the brothers decided to end the service, I'm assuming because of the weather. So we all left. But yours truly here decided because I'm the wife of Hercules, lol, to walk home but really because no bus was coming.

By the time I got home to my apartment I was NO GOOD!!

Wonder why I'm home today? Lol. I WANT to go out, but Jehovah says to use a sound mind, especially with my health issues.

Then last night, trying to stay cool though my AC was on, the crazy heads were celebrating the 4th with their firecrackers, and yes gun shots (come onnn. Do or did they really think people can't tell the difference?) Sooo, there really wasnt much sleep done.

Went to check the weather forecast to see if our cut hay is going to be washed, and was astonished to see them calling for Patchy smoke.

When forest fires rage up in Canada, and conditions are just right, the wind carries the smoke across Lake Superior and covers areas of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  Yesterday was really smokey so I checked the web and, sure enough, a dozen forest fires are burning up there right now and the wind is cold and from the north.

So...our hay will be smoked instead of washed. :D

Has been 72-75 and very humid for the last couple of weeks so today, being no different, I went out and WATERED the garden, just as I was on my last hose move I felt a bit of a sprinkle. Then an hour later it was a full fledged RAIN! Oh well, all the veg are really well watered now. But it's still humid, no need to dry off after a shower, well not unless you have a whole box of corn starch!

I guess it's supposed to be this way for a little while.

G'day.  Here in Aussie.  Its our wintertime.  Its been very cold.  But today is beautiful.  Sunny & a little on the warm side.

No rain for too long.  I washed the 4by. Usually that brings on the rain.

Hope y'all good too. Xx

If I may ask, what temperatures there are considered cold?

I commented before, pressed "Submit Reply" and nothing. So, figuring that I might as well add more I did, and then here I am on a blank page. Oh well. Here we go:

Today was in the 80s, but not that heat wave kinda 80s. It's summer after all.

I've heard people believing, thus telling others that Jehovah is responsible for the extreme weather temperatures. I disagree. Why?

Well, I think of a couple of Jehovah's personality traits. Yes, he did tell Noah and his family when they came out of the Ark that "From now on, the earth will never cease to have seed-sowing and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter..." (Bold mine). Ge 8:22.

That means then, that even in the New World we'll experience "cold and heat, summer and winter..."

But extremes? No! And this is where Jehovah's personality come in, at least two traits.

For example, Jehovah tells us to be reasonable, and like a good father Jehovah is an excellent example of being reasonable. Reasonable basically means not going to the extreme, or go beyond boundaries. Aren't heatwaves and cold snaps beyond boundaries? Yes.

Jehovah also tells us to show love. How loving is it to make summer so hot that it makes people sick, some die? How loving is it to make winter so cold that people get frostbite/other cold related conditions and not their fault, and land up in the emergency rooms?

No!! Jehovah is NOT responsible for these extreme temperatures.

I would love our winters here in the 60’s.

Never happen. ☹️

Hi Brother.  I have just been hearing about the weather across Europe. Belgium and Paris.

London.  Wow we. People are denying global warming.  I heard about Kim Jongs missile practice over near Japan.  No wonder the weather is hot.

Then I see the Monsoons that usually hit the Philippines a little earlier and that region are late?  Australia has been in drought mode we are now on water restrictions.

Its crazy huh.

Meant to ask. How are you coping with the heat?

Hi Loopy.  May I ask what area do you live?

Michigan, USA, The Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I’m located where the blue pin is.   I live about 2 blocks from Lake Superior. The cause of many very cold and snowy winters.

One time when my father was still alive, and living in Georgia, l called him to check on him. Up here in NYC the temperature was in the teens/20s.

So I asked what the temperature was down there.

He said "Oh it's cold down here baby, cold. So I asked what the exact temperature was. He said "oh about in the 40s." Oh my goodness!!

So I responded with "the 40s! Daddy do you know what I'll do right now for 40 degrees?"

Later I was told that down there in Georgia they're not accustomed to 40 degrees (something like that), And she was right of course.

Individuals respond to temperatures differently. Nevertheless, while up here in NYC, I'll take 40 degrees anytime during winter.
