Perhaps they need to prove that people have gotten infected from flushing toilets before publishing psudeoscience like that. In this age of COVID, they think people will believe anything.

It looks like there maybe some glimmer of hope. If it is true, it would be considered as a big breakthrough, and it would help with the current crisis.

lol hey I wasn't saying you are believing anything, by the way. The fact that it was published on tv means that they should cite something that proves covid has infected people who flushed their toilets with the lid up.

Well I’ve heard about closing the toilet lid when flushing long before Covid. Supposedly the feces particles float into the air?  If it’s true, it’s super gross. 🤢

 

On the other hand, there is and has been since before Jehovah created man, all kinds of particles in the air and all around us. We really aren’t meant to be a sterile species. We have bugs that live on our skin and in our bodies.  If you have survived your whole life flushing with the lid up, I doubt it’s going to kill you now. 
(but I still try to remember to close the lid....shudder) 😜

I laughed at your comment on the newspaper, not at you, I'm familiar with the paper. Like all media they have their slant, we just need to work it out first. Basically double check everything.

Yeah bathrooms are germ factories. I have to admit, I take my phone with me and I know I shouldn't but its become a habit. But I do wipe it with down with bleach wipes when I exit the bathroom, so I know its a bad practice.

But bacteria being thrust into the air has never infected anyone with covid, or each and every American who has flushed a toilet over the last 90 days would have covid. But the positivity rate has remained at 10 percent nationwide, instead of the expected 90-100 percent because we've all flushed toilets with the lid open.

They do the same when people fart. So in theory you can get COVID by being a real smart feller ( er Fart Smeller).

Well if you just did a plop and you flushed , the. You would be getting COVID from yourself.  
     So it’s really only an issue in a public restroom touching surfaces. 
     We see the most transmission of other diseases this way in college dormitory rooms at the beginning of a freshman year.  After that the roommates all have the same germs anyway.

Well, I need is some sort of proof that covid infections are from flushing public toilets. Otherwise, I see it as driving a fear narrative. I remember people saying the same thing about AIDS - that we can get aids from sharing a bathroom or shower with someone with AIDS.

I dont know if it's an Intentional fear narrative or just a lack of accurate knowledge but I believe any warning is a valid warning until there is evidence otherwise. I don't disregard a warning because I may question the intent or assume it's a fear narrative. However, that's just my opinion..
