The Mysterious Coronavirus Spreading Worldwide

@Bob

If you notice, my above comments are all about how we can go the extra mile to keep neutral, avoid misunderstandings/confrontations, and not tempt our brothers. How we can take responsibility for our part. Regarding hypotheticals, meditation usually involves imagining what situations could develop and how they could affect ourselves or others.

Your comments sound.....dismissive....

I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just trying to explain why we are seeing things differently. No need to reply. I'm not looking to debate.

The moderators are simply asking us to refrain from political talk, and we can choose to comply with a willing spirit:

An article I’ve just read says it’s almost impossible to make Covid19 vaccine that can get rid of it 100% and that it will stay with us forever..
Does it also mean, then, that our offline meeting is actually over for good, until GT comes? Is this the final gate through which we’ll enter the NW?

Thats the problem in online  group .. We don't know who's really the real 100% jw. and we don't know the  spiritual maturity of each and everyone.

The GB helper said that we don't really know  where this pandemic leads to... We can't even preach to people that we don't know. We only preach to acquaintances and extended family members.

Quote

We have been very careful throughout this pandemic to exempt religious services from any regulations (The only exception to this is our recent mask order.).

Meanwhile the Orthodox Jews are creating a ruckus in New York. A sister was telling us this morning that a Jewish reporter got cornered and spit on and got called a Jewish word that means snitch.

US records its third consecutive day of more than 50,000 coronavirus cases

Johns Hopkins University (JHU) reported 57,420 new positive cases in the United States on Friday.

The tally is the third consecutive day the US has seen more than 50,000 reported daily cases. Here are the figures:

Oct. 9: 57,420

Oct. 8: 56,191

Aug. 14: 64,601

Aug. 13: 51,977

Well, how people interpret that is on them. We have NO control over that.

You're dealing in hypotheticals. No one said discuss politicians. It just seems we are becoming judgmental of those who views are different from our own.

I wonder if this topic ought to be shielded from public views. Getting quite controversial.

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

Which is why we keep constantly asking /reminding members to remain neutral and keep this discussion about facts. Controversy has no place in this topic.

As long as Coronavirus remains a global pandemic, it will remain a current news item. Christians should be able to discuss current news without controversy or taking up a political position. If we can't do so, then it's time that Christian avoids this topic.

This is a big indicator whether the story is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.  Is it opinion?  Is it fake news?

If you can't find anything on mainstream news, then it should give you pause to proceed.

Granted, not everything is always on mainstream news. For example, the Watergate scandal first broke in just one newspaper... yet, eventually toppled a President. We understand there can be scoops and stories other outlets miss.

However, in this day and age we have to look at the reputation of the outlet or so called news website. We have to look at the tone of the story in question. We have to look at the tone of other stories on their site.

It's sad... Woodward and Bernstein did not have to contend with fake news.

They are really experiencing quite the spike:

We obviously wish everyone safety and good health.

As to what the government will do there, we'll have to wait and see. Meanwhile, we can just remember the direction from the slave: wear a mask when we go out, wash our hands regularly and use hand sanitizer when we aren't around a good place to wash our hands. As to the economy - we know the US/ UK world power will still exist right to the end. Somehow they'll find a way to weather this.

Stay well.

This could be because of the increased testing, not necessarily because of active spread. Identifying more cases will lead to more cases. The percent positive rate is what tells the entire story.

For the survivors, there can be serious long-term consequences.

NYTimes: ‘I Feel Like I Have Dementia’: How Brain Fog Plagues Covid-19 SurvivorsThe condition is affecting thousands of patients, impeding their ability to work and function in daily life.

The New York Times By Pam Belluck

After contracting the coronavirus in March, Michael Reagan lost all memory of his 12-day vacation in Paris, even though the trip was just a few weeks earlier.

Several weeks after Erica Taylor recovered from her Covid-19 symptoms of nausea and cough, she became confused and forgetful, failing to even recognize her own car, the only Toyota Prius in her apartment complex’s parking lot.

Covid-19 Reinfection Documented in Nevada Adds to Questions on Virus Immunity

https://apple.news/Avl03tRTpRBO29kOWnDUacw

Case of man reinfected with the coronavirus, reported in a Lancet medical journal, joins a number of Covid-19 second-cases world-wide

A Nevada man became the first published case of Covid-19 reinfection in the U.S., adding to a number of examples world-wide signaling that patients who have recovered from the viral disease might still be at risk of getting it again.

In a paper in the medical journal Lancet Infectious Diseases, a group of authors including University of Nevada researchers recount the case of a 25-year-old who suffered two bouts of Covid-19 infection, one confirmed through testing in mid-April and the second in early June. Symptoms of the second case started in late May, a month after the patient reported his initial symptoms as having resolved.

The two strains of virus were genetically distinct, signaling that it is unlikely that the man simply remained unknowingly infected with the virus in one, longer bout, the authors wrote. The paper notes that the patient’s second case of Covid-19 was more severe than his first, requiring supplemental oxygen and admission to a hospital after he suffered from shortness of breath.
