Wait, Biggs is white???

I've always imagined Biggs and Kit as afroamerican

Since it takes place in Europe I just assume they are generally white unless specified by description or name. So far I haven't seen a description that says he's black, but their names are very british, for whatever that's worth.

@Thomas Walker, can you be our tie-breaker?

"Your new religion is based on the idea that God can be loving and
destructive at the same time." Grant told him. "You know
why a cop shoots a black man in the back, or why a prison guard beats
an inmate for breathing the wrong way?"

Quote

Segregation and Slavery were legal. For most of the
modern era, a gay man had a better chance of getting lynched than getting a job. Women in the Victorian age had to either land a husband or sell their bodies to survive, because the idea of them getting an education and supporting themselves was laughable.
...

"It's not the same thing." Kit scorned. "There's nothing in
Christian Scripture that condones segregation, or lynchings, or
denying women work."

"And yet, who do you think fought all those reforms? A hundred years ago, a black man was part of the furniture. Now they're among billionaires and world leaders… And God had nothing to do with that.

These quotes would have more punch when told to a black person (and a woman, for the second one, it's told to Kit)

but they equally speak of victorian times, which were white women, and gay people, which she's not.

His cell mate was black, so I just think it would have been easy to mention that Biggs was also black (if he was).

edit: i get your reasoning, but I haven't seen it explicitly written that they are black. Kit was described as a "bedraggled woman", but no mention that she's black.

Garrett? That's a possible point, but in the context of being Quaker.

So I'm not sure anymore now :D Biggs and Kit have always been black siblings in my imagination :D

Caleb and Sophia's family have undergone a few redesigns since the first clip, but they've always been ethnically ambigious. The reason for this is obvious: They're for everyone.

I have created characters specifically to discuss Civil Rights, Gender equality, all kinds of prejudices that will have to be shed in Paradise.

Other than this, I specifically avoid mentioning nationalities and skin color unless its part of the backstory.

The reason for this is because that way as many readers as possible can see themselves, or something familiar in the characters they're reading about. I've had some complain that it makes my characters harder to picture, but it means they're for everyone.

Ho. I don't remember this detail !

He welcomed back the first unrighteous resurrection in Book 2, who happened to be a Nazi and he attacked Benedict because his last name is Levinsen (jewish).

And I'll just add that Megan is a ginger, lol.

Book 1

Quote

Hugh turned to look. A small redheaded girl was suddenly there, about five feet away. She hadn’t noticed them yet, facing away from them. She sat up, surprised, and checked herself over. She ran a hand over her face, looked closer at her wrists and hands…
