Has anyone had issues with "popping/crackling" while playing the songs? We have started having that issue with all brothers on our A/V crew. We have also shared in the Zoom app, and JW Library; we have tried Audio Mono & Stereo, and still the issue persists.

Not to stray from the cracking noise question, but is anyone using amac to play songs and media? If so, what's the easiest way? I open stuff in various programs and share the appropriate screen, but the instructions from the branch only include windows computers.

Noticed this also and I play the songs from a dedicated powerful laptop with nothing else running but just the Zoom sessions. It is not there when the volume is low but as soon as it increases you hear the crackling.

The brother I was asked to train had a macbook. He used vlc for images and video. It worked out well.

One problem some encounter with BT buds or headsets is a delay (or lag) in the audio and a lack of synchronization with the video - corded headset/buds do not have this problem

Ok, I am hoping for the best. My Logitech bluetooth huge headset has no lag and awesome sound. I will test buds many times before the meeting.

Just a couple of tips re: virtual backgrounds.

 

- lighting is the most important thing.

If using a green screen you need consistent lighting across it.

So make sure the green screen is a flat and wrinkle free as possible. ( Mine is stretched over a frame. )

Use lighting from more than one angle to minimise shadows. Eg imagine you are stood at the point of a triangle - you get best effect with at least 2 lights placed at the other points of the triangle in front of you. ( This is similar to what the JW stream studio manual recommends.)

 

- if setting a plain background as your virtual background, use a textured image, - any block of colour behind you with no texture or variation is going to look unnatural.  Eg I use a light cream background but it's a picture of a light cream wall so it has imperfections and gradients and most dont realise it's not a real wall behind me.

I also use a light blue version sometimes.

I paid extra attention during our song today. We too have this crackling/interference noise. I have not noticed it before.

Today I was the host at our field service meeting and noticed two changes that don't appear to be described in any update... maybe only affecting the organization account?

 

The waiting room was no more an obligation, in fact it was desabled and I just noticed that when seeing the Br's entering naturally...

I was not able to give co-host priviledges to anyone... only exchanging the host status

 

Anyone noticed the same ?

The same here. We had to activate the CoHost privileges on Zoom.us. Then it was all right again.

All the plain colored screens look good as the tone is not too dark and gives enough contrast. 👍

 

The dark gray doesn't have enough contrast so doesn't look good (to me).

When I do it I use what the Branch uses for morning worship. They have already picked the best background color.

I personally like all of them except the light yellow. The other colors matched my outfit, even my bowtie and pocket square set.

 

I made other light color backgrounds of the 7 (not including white) primary colors.

As for the buds+ I have them and they work very good. Probably you have to update the firmware also in zoom you will have two mentions of the buds, "...Helmet..." And "...speakers...". Opt for the "...helmet..." And both the mic and speaker will work perfectly

Don't forget about the pocket square. 

 

Bowtie and pocket square and lapel pin is my meeting look and tie is for field service. Like to keep them different.

if you take the mouse to the bottom of the screen...and hover over JWLib intaskbar - then select it... it seems to work...

I like the greys and blues - the are easiest on the eyes for longer periods

the yellow was not fun

 

studies show blues are more relaxing (calming than pinks(anxious).....it was a test done on painting wallls in police stations, jails and ‘institutions’
