Anyone enjoying a sim racing game?

Recommended Posts

A simulation racing game.

Covid-19 has led me to have so many new hobbies..

I've started learning Biblical Hebrew, drawing.. and these days I'm also playing racing games..

Never thought it'd cause me to pay more money that I had expected.

One needs a racing rig, a racing wheel and a decent pedal set, let alone a console or a PC and a monitor, of course.

But much cheaper than an actual car and you don't have to worry about dying of a car crash.

But over all, I'm enjoying it very much.

You can't have G-force, of course. But almost every information can be conveyed through the wheel and the pedal and the game itself.

It's almost exactly like how driving feels in the real world so I've heard that even real racers use sim racing games to practice when they are not in a competition.

I am thinking of Microsoft Flight Simulator...cheaper then buying a plane  LOL :whistling::lol1:

Much, much cheaper. I think you will like it , fly over my house sometime.

Even as a pilot I find MS Flt Sim facinating, I get out my log book and fly my old flights over again, fairly relistic. Most newbies like to fly jets. I prefer older propellor driven aicraft. Cessnas, Piper Cubs and Taylorcrafts (Austers down under). If you go for the older planes it might interst you to know that the desingner of the Piper J3 Cub and the later Taylorcraft was on of us, a JW, CG Taylor.

Steam only sells digital game, which is for premium deluxe $180 Aussie dollars .... comes with additional content that I wouldn’t mind.

(extra planes ..airports etc etc )

Well, all the 53 GB remaining for on my main partition of 456 GB is likely not enough for too much of MSFS textures and data 😒 Should have waited a year ago, and gotten a laptop with a bigger hard drive! Then again, the laptop gets way too warm with performance-intensive games anyway.

Does anyone want to join a minecraft realms server thats only witnesses?

We also have it set up so certain mobs don't show up.

Minecraft is a fun game where you can show off your creative building talents or go exploring an earth type  world with with different biomes, raise animals or be a farmer etc...

Maybe in the future, I am still trying to build my perfect Zoo (in Planet Zoo) - creativity of building and terraforming are almost endless, I have designed some buildings from scratch and saved them as blueprints, cannot finish my projects due to lack of time ..hey Kingdom interests must come first, we need more ...time..time..time...I see value in living forever :)

BTW Planet Zoo is currently on sale on Steam.

I have planet Coaster as well, and definitely PZ has better graphics, and fun interaction with animals and building habitats that only can be limited by your imagination.

That's right, it's only for witnesses, and all "undead/occult" monsters are removed in the realm (i.e. instantly teleported into the Void for destruction whenever they spawn).

It includes a Discord channel for voice chat and information, which is also only for witnesses.

That is very good idea. I used to like playing Minecraft a lot, many years ago on Creative.

I personally don’t like the direction they are going now, though. They are just adding too much that kills the simplicity of the game and alters it so much.

I still like the good old “Beta 1.7.3” version.

Personally, I find it more enjoyable with its complexities, as there's so much more to see and create. Also, some of the other players in the realm have been able to do a lot with the new additions, which they wouldn't have been able to accomplish without it, so I feel it really contributes to the experience.

Years ago my cousin and I would play Minecraft PE version. The game isn't immersive enough. I like story driven games that make you so focused you don't even think how you are playing a game.

That's fair enough. I think different people are drawn more to different elements of games, like someone might like the creative aspect of a game, another the social aspect, and another the problem solving. Some games are focused on one only, while other games cater for multiple elements. For me, Minecraft is both a social game and a creative game, so that's why I enjoy it - though you are right, it's not story driven.
