While I agree this could be an escalation, I have no belief that the US has the capacity to defeat Iran. Israel runs the risk of revealing that their greatest defender is impotent. The US election will probably have a greater impact on this conflict than any retaliatory strike.

2 Iraq wars might indicate otherwise.

Of course that was 20+ years ago.

Now, being willing to defeat Iran might be a different story.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

I am bit worried that this topic is not bringing the news and events to the table but also "opinions" (I am guilty of this as well) Therefore neutrality in our hearts could be tainted. As Jehovah's servants we know the final outcome of the last days and main "prophetic markers" that will play vital role that leads to the conclusion of this system.

Wonderful reminder:

The Bible gives several reasons why God requires that we remain neutral. For example, we follow the teachings and example of his Son, Jesus Christ, by being “no part of the world,” avoiding its politics (in any format)  and wars. (John 6:15; 17:16) We must remain neutral in order to be loyal subjects of God’s Kingdom. W16 April.

I'm temporarily unfollowing this thread.

My reason is to focus on what is most important: preaching the good news of the Kingdom and teaching people about Jehovah God and His purpose; focusing my energy on personal study, prayer, ministry, and strengthening my faith with fellow brothers.

Whatever may unfold in the future will happen at the right time—in Jehovah's timing. For me, I don't need to follow every news update to see if something significant is happening in the world right now to convince me that the end is near. I'm already convinced that the end will come, whether in my lifetime or in generations to come.

Jehovah has given us everything we need to focus on right now.

Brothers, if you'd like, try unfollowing threads like this for a month, or for six months, and focus your energy on ministry and see what happens. Because I will—what about you?

Thank you very much for your words and opinions on the various topics discussed here. Most of us are able to balance life inside and outside social media, without neglecting our commitments to the Kingdom, personal study, and an active Christian life. However, if this has been causing you any discomfort, follow your heart and do what is best for you and for your spiritual growth. Continue to show your zeal and love for Jehovah and the brothers. Take care!

I hope you are right. No one on earth is living the real life. It is just survival.

Yea some live more comfortable life but it is only temporary. All get sick and die.

However, if the end doesnt come sooner. We know that Jehovah can help us to endure.

Let us pour our heart to him and throw our burdens because He cares.

I not only like that but also love it

Let's use this thread to discuss the CONTENT of the convention, not the locations. I've seen the other thread for the 2024 Special Conventions, but it seems to be full of lodging and location information.

The theme is "Declare the Good News!" I am excited to see if the previous conventions will tie in, as all the qualities from 2018-2023 are essential. Plus the ending songs are amazing and I wish we'd sing them within the program, like we did for the 2019 convention.

We shouldn’t serve Jehovah with a date in our minds?

when I was a teenager I set up the date for 2000

ive planned my life till then

Nothing happened and I got married meanwhile.

I set up the date 2025 and planned my life for that date

if the end doesn’t come then I will set up the date 2034 and plan my life again.

my life needs a goal to plan

if nothing happens I start a new goal and lead my life accordingly

This way I live constantly with Jehovahs day in my mind

One day it will come!

meanwhile we do our best to serve Jehovah first

You probably right, some individuals may be more productive, endure and persevere when having a goal set with a time in mind and that works. However, I think it also depends on how you are really into it. Otherwise, there might a high likelihood of either big encouragement or disappointment 😥. Even though we don't know when exactly it's going to happen, at least we know it's imminent with all evidences at hand. Wether we set a date in our mind or not, @Sofia"We live constantly with Jehovah's Day in mind, one day it wil come!"💕  😅

Recently I have stopped watching the news on TV. I look at a few media websites and read only the headlines. Keeping up with everything happening in the world can cause stress and anxiety. Here is a partial list of what is occurring in the world each day:  climate crisis, murder, child abuse, sexual assault, corporate greed, political corruption, divided families, wars, animal torture, starvation and food shortages, terrorism, school shootings, religious upheaval,  financial woes and disease. Personally, I don't want to see all the terrible details of Satan's personality. Since I have limited my exposure to so much negative info, I feel better. I have more time to focus on positive things. I prefer to "keep on the watch" at a safe distance.

You've summerized all current events in the news, in only two sentences. I will no longer watch news, I now know what is happening 😂 😂 😆

We once had a magazine that said "Pay attention to the News".   However, how much of it is the trick so-to-speak.

We don't want to be immersed in it because Jehovah does not depend on it to bring his Day.

We are also told to be "vigilant" and have been given signs to what to watch for but, continue in Jehovah's Worship.  He is the real Time-Keeper.

Another scripture mentions not to "postpone" the day of Jehovah in our minds.  And....we should not.

The scriptures say it will catch us by surprise....and....it will because we do not expect it.  There is a safety issue by not paying to much attention as to when, how, or if it will happen in our time.  Anxieties, concern even disappointments if it does not show up on our timetable.

The GB has very nicely layed out the prophecies that are taking place now in dramas and studies of the WT we know that it is very near.

UN under pressure: (Can't wait when Rev 17:17 is "done" in the future)

Israel’s parliament has voted to ban a nearly eight-decade-old United Nations agency that provides essential services for Palestinian refugees, a move that could have devastating consequences for millions of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation.

On Monday, the Knesset passed two bills; one barring UNRWA from activity within Israel, and another banning Israeli authorities from any contact with UNRWA – revoking the 1967 treaty that allows UNRWA to provide services to Palestinian refugees in areas under Israel’s control.

The move is expected to severely restrict the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from operating in territories Israel occupies.https://edition.cnn.com/2024/10/28/middleeast/unrwa-israel-knesset-vote-ban-palestinians-intl/index.html

I understand jrnievas’ point of view. I don’t personally need to look at the news to know the end is near. I can step outside my apartment door and see just how bleak things are out here.

However I also recognize the need to keep abreast of world events because we look for the ‘signs’, such as P&S. We’ll definitely be watching BTG’s destruction thru the news as well.

So I guess all this evens itself out😁

Just gotta be careful not to get too hyped up about it, while also being aware of what goes on around us.

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

If someone is busy, time runs fast.. Either the end of our lives or the end of this system of things.

Being spiritual protects us from getting involved into materialism , immorality or any things in the world. The desire of the eyes, things in the world.

Sisters wearing pants is a huge marker for me. I have the feeling that it is related to the nearness of GT. Many are saying. GB is of course discreet.
