You guys in the US have a special kind of trial with this basket case situation over there. 😳🤪

I guess it’s our turn for crazy….

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

Trump is selling ‘God Bless the USA’ Bibles for $59.99 as he faces mounting legal bills

https://apnews.com/article/trump-god-bless-usa-bible-greenwood-2713fda3efdfa297d0f024efb1ca3003

Par the course from this guy right? But after all he was sent by God. I guess Matthew 10:8 doesn't apply to him though.

There is a foreboding in the air.  Does anyone feel it??

The air is thick. Ones I worked with or old associates who I once preached to said, "No, business as usual! Don't be serious." are now like "Hey, uh what did you say is going on? I remember you said something about the Bible?" The air is getting thick and not normally and some people it's bugging them out.

French school head resigns over Paris veil row and death threats https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-68673112

Religious extremists have sent death threats to a school principal when he enforced the “no veil at school” government policy, and has resigned.

Both sides of politics are up in arms about this - the extreme left and the extreme right both agree and expressed outrage, claiming that it is “a defeat of the state” and that “this government is incapable of protecting our schools.”

The Islamist threat to French schools is taken extremely seriously since the murders of two teachers.

Then there is a Russian disinformation campaign, with over 30 bomb threats at schools, which means closures as they all have to be taken seriously. “Prime Minister Gabriel Attal warned earlier this month that the Kremlin had embarked on a "massive destabilisation enterprise" to undermine French support for Ukraine.”

Religion, extremists and politics 🙄

The Christian reaction to Trump’s Bible endorsement goes deeper than you think

https://www.yahoo.com/news/why-christians-angry-trump-god-173235981.html

“What has caused outrage with this Bible is that it includes the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, and even the lyrics to a Lee Greenwood song. So it’s adding to the Bible, and it’s adding specific political documents to the Bible that completely erase the separation of church and state.”

If he swears to 'tell the truth' with his hand on his own bible, does he have to tell the truth?

President Joe Biden sparked fury among conservatives on social media on Saturday after he proclaimed Sunday, March 31, which happens to be the day Easter falls on this year, Transgender Day of Visibility.

The International Transgender Day of Visibility was created on March 31, 2009, and has continued to be celebrated every March 31 for more than a decade. The day is meant to not only honor transgender people, but raise awareness of the discrimination they continue to face.

Bibles were 'intentionally set on fire' outside Greg Locke's church on Easter, police say

Police in Middle Tennessee are investigating after a trailer full of bibles was found burning outside a controversial Middle Tennessee megachurch lead by Pastor Greg Locke right before it held Easter service Sunday.

The intentional fire, officials said, took place on a street outside Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, a city about 20 miles directly east of downtown Nashville.

"MAGA-mined “prophets” with dubious gifts of divination, the eclipse is a signal of God’s design for America, and another marker that former President Donald Trump is heaven’s “anointed” candidate." - :facepalmpo2:

Famous Atheist Richard Dawkins Says He Considers Himself a ‘Cultural Christian’

‘I love hymns and Christmas carols and I sort of feel at home in the Christian ethos, and I feel that we are a Christian country in that sense,’ said the British author of ‘The God Delusion.’

Quote

After expressing his satisfaction at what he perceives as a decline in the number of Christians, the famous atheist noted that he “would not be happy if, for example, we lost all our cathedrals and our beautiful parish churches.”

“So I call myself a cultural Christian, and I think it would be truly dreadful if we substituted any alternative religion.”

‘I’d Choose Christianity Every Time’

Asked whether he sees the decline in church attendance and the construction of some 6,000 mosques, with many more planned, as a problem, Dawkins responded: “Yes, I do, really. I have to choose my words carefully: If I had to choose between Christianity and Islam, I’d choose Christianity every single time.”

“It seems to me to be a fundamentally decent religion, in a way that I think Islam is not,” he commented.

I guess it's an improvement.
After bashing christians for decades, he finally understood that christianism isn't so bad after all, at least culturally.

Oh, but he still hates it:

I think he hates Islam and/or Muslims so much that he is ready to prefer cultural Christianity, as he wants to point out, but he should rather talk about Christendom with these bell towers, Christmas and chocolate bunnies (special dedication, @Particule de poussière). Difficult to go further in sympathy or cynicism, I don't know which qualifier to choose.

Yes, he was the one who hired buses in London to display atheist slogans. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheist_Bus_Campaign

I found it humorous that he sort of quoted 2 scriptures. One was recently in our reading.

(Psalm 14:1) "The foolish one says in his heart: “There [probably] is no Jehovah [God KJV].”

(1 Corinthians 15:32) . . .“let us eat and drink [enjoy your life], for tomorrow we are to die.”

He left out the important parts.
