I didn't...

It's kinda funny; as soon as I read about this quake I started to think about where I was at that time....:facepalmpo2:

(I just recently moved. I was in California, USA, about 130 miles from the epicenter. Now I'm in Northern Idaho,USA, 900 miles away:wave:)

From California to Idaho? That's a big change.

Indonesia's Mount Semeru spewed more ash on Monday, forcing rescuers to suspend the search for survivors as aerial images showed the extent of the devastation unleashed by the volcano's deadly weekend eruption.

The biggest mountain on the island of Java thundered to life Saturday, ejecting a mushroom of volcanic ash high into the sky and raining hot mud as thousands of panicked people fled their homes. At least 14 were killed.

Aerial photos showed entire streets filled with grey volcanic ash and mud, which had swallowed many homes and vehicles, including whole trucks.

Rescue operations were suspended because of fresh volcanic activity on Monday.

My alerts are going bonkers because of the seismic activity off the coast of Oregon today.

Mine too.   My phone vibrates three times for each 5.0+ quake alert.  It was vibrating all day, and clear on through our Mid-Week meeting tonight. 17 big quakes today...so far.  Those two 5.7s off the Oregon coast have been upgraded to 5.8s

Made headlines in my EarthSky News, too:

Dozens of earthquakes rumble off the Oregon coast

USGS is reporting dozens of small-to-moderate earthquakes that started yesterday (December 7) and are continuing through this morning, off the coast of Oregon. The largest so far reached magnitude 5.8. Earthquakes in the ocean sometimes cause tsunamis. But no tsunamis were ever expected from these earthquakes, and none are expected at this writing. We often see a dozen or so foreshocks and aftershocks around a primary earthquake. But this is an unusually long-lasting earthquake series, near a heavily populated area. No harm done so far. Has it stopped? Not at this writing. Read more about the Oregon earthquakes.

Update on the earthquake swarm off the coast of Oregon, USA:

Quote

Is the Oregon earthquake swarm tapering off?

Dozens of earthquakes

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported dozens of small-to-moderate earthquakes off the Oregon coast this week, beginning at 5:21 a.m. Pacific Time (13:21 UTC) on December 7, 2021. That initial quake was 4.2 magnitude. Since then, as of this writing, there have been 78 small-to-moderate earthquakes (magnitude 2.5 or greater) in the ocean off the Oregon coast, with the last one – a magnitude-3.6 quake – occurring at 1:06 a.m. Pacific Time (9:06 UTC) on December 9. There were two 5.8-magnitude quakes in this swarm. But most of the earthquakes were relatively small, according to USGS. Earthquakes in the ocean sometimes cause tsunamis. But no tsunamis were ever expected from this week’s earthquake swarm off the Oregon coast.

So far this morning, there have already been 17 more quakes off the coast of Oregon.  So I'm thinking the  earthquake swarm off the coast of Oregon is NOT tapering off...just yet.

Just remember that the quakes are hundreds of miles off the Coast in the Blanco Fault Line.  They are not connected with the fault line associated with the "Big One" quake they have said would come any time now. That would be the Cascadia Fault Line.

Yes, this swarm is occurring on the Juan de Fuca fault line.

Going to check and see if this 7.3 magnitude quake set any tsunami buoys in motion.

It hit at a relatively shallow depth, so it might have triggered a few.
