Br. Kurzen was still alive at the end of 2001 (he wrote his life story in the WT).  I wonder when he died?

Russell Walter Kurzen born 22 September 1907 in Dalton, Ohio, United States. Russell Walter Kurzen died 27 Sep 2004 at age 97 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States.

 

Son of John Gottlieb Godfrey Kurzen and Ida (Flory) Kurzen.

 

Father: John Gottlieb Godfrey Kurzen born 5 Jan 1878 in Frutigen, Bern, Switzerland. John was the son of Peter Kurzen and Maria Shmid. In 1887, John migrated to America with his family. John was a teacher and a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. John was baptized in 1904 at the St. Louis, Missouri. John died 1 Jul 1963 at age 85 in Bay Shore, Islip, Suffolk, New York, United States.

 

Mother: Ida Kurzen formerly Flory born 25 Oct 1881 in Paint Township, Wayne, Ohio, United States. Ida was the daughter of Franklin Flory and Mary Wertz. Ida died 26 Feb 1963 at age 81 in Bay Shore, Islip, Suffolk, New York, United States.

 

John Gottlieb Godfrey Kurzen and Ida (Flory) Kurzen got married 14 Jun 1906 in Dalton, Sugar Creek Township, Wayne, Ohio, United States. Children: son Russell Walter Kurzen (1907 - 2004), daughter Esther, son John Gottleib Godfrey Kurzen Jr. (1913 - 1980).

 

John Gottleib Godfrey Kurzen Jr. Born 8 Mar 1913 in Dalton, Sugar Creek Township, Wayne, Ohio, United States. John volunteered at the world headquarters of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society at Brooklyn, New York. John put his technical skills to work at Bethel and collaborated with other Bethelites on such projects as producing portable phonographs. John Gottleib Godfrey Kurzen Jr. died 4 Jul 1980 at age 67 in Valley Stream, Hempstead, Nassau, New York, United States.
