This is weird you brought this out.I thought a couple move next door to a witch and I told the husband if she gets you mad, then just by her a broom for a present. But, today I come to find out that she could be mentally off.

We're one of the last few who have the old style. We applied for our Hall during the changeover. Oh well, I think it's going to be a big thing for the community anyway. We're just happy to get a new hall, we needed one for years. Ours was built after the quonset hut era, circa 1960's. And the last remodel was in the 80's so the decor was pink backed seats and mauve wallpaper!          , gag me. 

 

Here's something interesting-  we watched a neighboring church as they added on to their existing building. They moved RV's in the parking lot and made a big deal of it- so full of RV's they couldn't move around. After they RV's moved out we saw the new addition was only framed in, and it wasn't done very well either, the roof lines didn't match. It took them months to get it finished. I think upwards of a year. They had to hire it all done. All I could think was how wonderful it's going to be when we do ours, it's already causing a bubble of excitement in the community. The local Fire Dept. burned the building down, a training exercise, and wrote us a really nice letter, commenting on how easy we are to work with. We bought the property from a neighbor to the South, she had lost her hubby, we looked in on her from time to time and helped her until she sold to us then we got together and moved her a few hours away to her son's place. She was so impressed with the love shown she is now well on her way to becoming our sister. The neighbor to the North has a stool set up now by his fence so he can stand on it and watch us work. He asks questions sometimes too. This is a man who was so hateful he'd throw cigarette butts over on our side of the fence. We softened him up by being kind. Now he loves us and waves to us when we see him watching. The local baker I use delivered pies to the site yesterday and is so impressed she donated cinnamon rolls and pie to the brothers, says "god bless all your hard work" and wants to bake more for us as we progress along.

The community is happy with us, they like how friendly we are and are impressed with how we are all volunteers. Hope to learn more. I think the local paper is doing an article on us. Will keep you posted if you want to know.
