WHALE.jpg

That is a great picture. The guy that created it explained how he did it.

The blue whale picture is fake. It is out of proportion to its surroundings. Look at the bus on the bridge for example. An average bus is about 15m long. The longest blue whale that has ever been recorded is 30m. A baby whale is about 8m. The baby whale in the picture is at least 20 buses long, that is about 300m.

We know that it is a digitally altered picture. The artist explains that in the link that I posted.

I really like this picture because, even without the words, it speaks volumes!

I suppose you are not actually referring to the almost Vulcan looking ears .....

Since I posted this picture it's been exposed as being digitally altered..

Don't feel bad. I think we all get duped by things like this sometimes. We need to wait for some further verification—"two or three witnesses"—before posting. We love you anyway. :crush:

(I've been guilty of the same thing at times.) :facepalmpo2:

 Too late to include this in the previous post.

Here's a more detailed explanation of how the whale could have fit under that bridge.

Funny. I live in Montreal where this is supposed to have taken place. No one around here was talking about it!

I really don't care if the whale pic is real or not ... I still liked it!

Do you mind if I state the obvious pun?

It's a whale of a picture!

I used to be acquainted with one of the "darkroom masters" who made composite/manipulated photos long before things went digital.

Some of the pictures he created were just as convincing and often outlandish as the whale picture ... and he did not use a computer to do it.

I was privileged to be able to visit him in his darkroom and have him show me firsthand just how he created photos of things that never existed or happened.

I'm not very good at judging distance, but that bridge is definitely not to scale...

"Species information The blue whale, Balaenoptera musculus (Linnaeus 1758) is the largest animal known to have lived on Earth with a maximum reported length of 33.6m (110ft) although the longest scientifically validated was 29.9m (98ft)."

the blue whale, the largest mammal, surpasses them in size. The longest blue whale on record was a 108-foot [33 m] adult female caught in Antarctica.

Edit: Sorry, stupid me posted this while on the previous page, I thought I was at the end...

You are right about that bro Alex. Since I posted it I made a disclaimer about it's validity. One of our moderators Bro. Tortuga was alert and brought out that it is digitally altered. You can go to Snopes to read how the originator did it..sorry for the confusion.

A beautiful picture! This photographer is a hobby photographer, a talented one! Normally he sells fish from his own "fish cart" :

What about chocolate?

Donuts?
