First, I want to commend her for thinking of a name BEFORE the baby's born. Just a personal opinion but I think parents should think of a name before birth. Now for the fun.

My youngest daughter's name is Zipporah. I love that name! But below are a few names I thought of. If she was a boy he would've been named Joshua. Love it!

Here goes:

Jennifer

Chloe (pronounced Clo wee, short for Cleopatra so I was told).

Fatima (a moslem guy suggested this one).

Naomi

Ruth

Elizabeth

IMHO, parents never give enough thought to what the other kids are going to nickname their child, based on the name that is bestowed upon them at birth.

Some possibilities, if you were to choose a Biblical name:

Abigail= Abby

Abihail= Haily
Abishag=Bish, or Hag
Achsah=Achy
Adah=Du-uh
Aholibamah=Obama
Azubah=Az, or Zubah
Basemeth=Base, or Meth
Bilhah=Bill, Hah, or Haha
Dorcas=Dorc, or... :o
Eglah=Egg, or La-la
Hagar=Hag
Hogla=Hog
Keren–Happuch=Karen, or Puch

See, this is why parents need to consider future nicknames. ^_^
Some are okay.  But others? Not so okay.  :huh:

Really Richard?  One of your favorite names for a girl is "Abishag"?!!!!  Not in this system!!!

I think "Claire" is a very pretty name - seems demure and reminds me of quiet beauty for some reason.

She'll be born in the summertime - you can name her "Summer".

I once met a girl named "Essence", don't hear that too much.

Sure, why not?

Some of the other names on the list are interesting.

I heard Leah is a real princess and Martha was a great cook,

Jezebel was a pushover and Vasti was just too into herself, so they could come off the list.

Ruth is a good name but once she moves out you will be Ruthless.

Noah is a pretty girls name, I'm sure she would flood you with joy.

Oh, Lois is a super name too.
