Thanks for the info.

I never tried it before.

I just noticed on Windows 10 and 11 that each time I activate WT library it creates a new instance. This is useful when doing research.

Is this a new feature?

Br. Chew, I can't seem to duplicate your experience.  Could you describe what you did to see the results shown?  Anytime I open WTL and choose a topic or text, it erases the one on the screen and replaces it with the new request.

Its a feature that allows you to research multiple languages.

*** wtlib-help Getting Started ***
Exercise 13: How can I see in another language the same article that I am reading?
Open an edition of Watchtower Library in another language (or you also could open editions in more languages). You may want to resize both editions so you can see the one you are reading as well as the second one. Click the Synchronize button on the toolbar of Watchtower Library. This synchronizes what is in area (4) in both editions. Note: Synchronize also works between editions of the same language.

CAUTION: The comments above may contain personal opinion, speculation, inaccurate information, sarcasm, wit, satire or humor, let the reader use discernment...:D

Here is a screen capture of the steps.

Nice, it seems you are doing this on windows 11. Right?

No, I'm doing it on my OnePlus 6T phone. I only have a laptop with Windows 10 and I haven't updated that yet. Like I said in my original post, I have Android devices and noticed a BIG difference in how JW Library looked after the update for them.

Thank you.  It was a "concept" problem on my part.  I was trying to open these windows as a "side-by-side" on the main screen.  My WTL icon is on my windows taskbar.  So I have to drop down to the taskbar to initiate a new WTL search.  As long as I don't close any of them, they all remain as an option from the taskbar if you hover your mouse arrow over the icon.  Got it.  Thanks.

Multiple instances can be opened both on windows 10 and 11.

I have windows 10 on my Intel Gen 2 laptop.

This is good news.

I simulated this by only going to the start menu and selecting the wt library two times and there it is.

Thank you very much.

I use the shortcut on the taskbar. If I simply click on it (left click) it will open one instance of WTL. Each subsequent click will merely access that already open instance. However, if I "right click) on the icon it will give me a selection menu

If I then click on the top item it will launch a new instance - the same works for apps like Paint, Explorer and the like.

Hhmm. Mine isn't doing that. I get more like John's experience just above; that's how I get two instances.

Note that in the video attached I'm activating WTLib from a pinned shortcut on the start menu on windows 11.

I'm not activating it from the taskbar icon.

Since I do not have Windows 11 yet, I was not sure where you were finding that icon.

However, as someone else mentioned. being able to run several instances of WTL is not a new feature - it has been there for a long time.

When I open the Watchtower Library icon, I get this  message: "Failed to validate update package." It will open the library, but it won't do an update. Does anyone know why or how to fix it? Thanks.

Ken, when you tried the update, were you already current with the previous update (2201)?
