Last year I drove to Billings, MT the 3rd week in Sept. to support a grandchild getting baptized, I had snowfall for 350 miles on the way home and I actually left a day before the storm really hit. This year, again heading to Billings for another grand daughter's baptism the third week in October but I decided to fly.  Sure enough it snowed two inches in Billings the week before I arrived. Long miserable winters but the people love it that live there.

I feel a little bit better.

I get up at 3:30 in the morning and before the time change it was still near dark at almost 8am then dark by 6. Now I get to see the sun come up before 7 and it's still a bit daylight till 5:30. It's ok,  I can enjoy the early morning light so it may make the short days easier. Note to self: get those LED bulbs put in the can lights and lamps, they really make a difference.

Anywho, it's a beautiful day. Sunny and 50's. I get to mow again tomorrow. That'll be nice. I get to plant garlic and I'm noticing all the manure we added this fall has made the leeks grow like mad! Something good in these short dark days.

Tuesday we had our first snow in Columbus, Mt...then it snowed again last night...

it's about 20 degrees today.

Even the outside pictures say its too early. They fell over. ( not this way on my computer )

It was nice and warm in Billings a couple weeks ago. Was there for the CA to support my granddaughter's baptism on Sunday the 22nd Oct..  I don't know how all y'all take those cold winters. We passed through Columbus on Thursday before on our way to Bozeman for a Dr. appt. Beautiful area I must say.

Last 2 days it's been cold here. Went from warm and humid to 28 degrees at night in about 3 days! Had to put the winter blanket on the bed.

Nope.  We got 8 inches here, too.  Took me forever to shovel a path to the

feeders and knock all the snow off.  It was only 20 degrees here this morning.

I'm too old for winter.

Not bad.  Hope you can say the same.  It's the degenerated discs in my lower back

that always make me dread winter...and all the shoveling that ensues.

 

Like I always say, it's a good thing that winter is so beautiful,

 

 

because that is its only redeeming quality.

So so far we dodge the bullet in my area anyway.

Overcast.  No NEW snow...yet.   Hope the 'fish' are biting.

This afternoon began our winter wonderland with snow, sleet. I didn't go out all day, but looked out the winter and praised Jehovah!

 

The trees were completely covered, glistening in the snow, not a branch was naked...literally! It was unbelievably breathtaking! 

 

And I didn't have to break my neck looking either. The trees are literally right under my windows, and over them, though far enough that you can't touch them. Captivating!

But I have to go out tomorrow to take a book back to the library, and hopefully spend some time in service. 

 

Sooo here we go, slush slush making the snow dirty. Oh well. Right now the sanitation department is doing their thing, I can hear them, they'll be out all night till the wee hours. Oh well, that's how they eat.
