Michigan, USA, The Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I’m located where the blue pin is.   I live about 2 blocks from Lake Superior. The cause of many very cold and snowy winters.

Wow Cool. I like a Show Chicago PD.

Looks like the please has snow most the time.  Is that how it is in Michigan?

Well, the saying around here is: 9 months of winter and 3 months bad snowmobiling. 😁

Well, today it’s 1 degree shy of 90* F.  🔥 We do get a summer but it takes a while to get here.

Meant to ask. How are you coping with the heat?

With great difficulty. I don’t think I have ever drunk so much water a day as I did today. I think during whole day I had about 4 L water if not more. It was too hot and really unbearable.

Happily whilst at work I had to drive car for up to 2 hours and I had the a/c on in full capacity BUT...  When I ended the trip, turned the a/c off and stepped out of the car— WOW. It was so hot first I thought the car was in fire. Imagine 2 hours in car where a/c is on continuously in full capacity. So after I stepped out of the car all of a sudden the heat hit my face first and then body and I realised that it was just the sun and heat not the car in fire.  I was working today in this hot weather from morning till evening and had to walk a lot as well. We had a lovely meeting which has finished not long ago.

I’m glad tomorrow we will have max 25c and rain as well!

Looking forward to it.

I feel for you.  I was in Northern territory last year.  I the heat is not fun. Yes thank goodness cars are modernized.  Ac is definitely a must.  If I may suggest iced cooked coconut water for hot days. It puts back the electrolytes and rejuvenates you.

It's been lovely here, mid 70's (about 21 C.) although today when I left for work at 3:30 it was 84. It's 8:20 pm and still in the 70's, enjoying it very much. Went out to check the garden- everything is loving the sun. Not too hot not too cool. Gonna pick swiss chard, leeks and rhubarb tomorrow. And mow, lots and lots of mowing. I love this weather, I come alive!

Well, it's look like NYC is going back in the oven again according to the weather forecast, as in another heatwave starting tomorrow, mostly Monday, though they said not much. "Not much"? My question is when is a heatwave not ever much? Oh man!

Here in NYC it's gray, rainy and dreary because hurricane Dorian is seriously angry, and mad, and everything else in the Bahamas and elsewhere. So he's taking his frustration out on we New Yorkers by having a temper tantrum because so far he can't get to we tough, "I-dont-care" attitude common here.

I wish could tell him to "go in the corner Dorian!" Lol.

Oh well. He'll calm down.

I guess you could say we are having the calm-before-the-storm

We keep getting rain bands that do not last that long - but, we are all ready soggy from all the rain we have gotten in the past couple months.

We are just waiting to see where, when and how fast and how close Dorian will pass by our area of Florida -

My wife and I are supposed to be headed to NC this Sat ... we have to see if this is still going to happen

If Savannah and Charleston fare OK - maybe the train will still run since they are looking for Dorian to be "out to sea" by Sat afternoon

What part? The coast may not be a good idea due to flooding, but it's not supposed to affect inland too much.

They have been saying minimal effects in that area...maybe 1-2 inches of rain, but it will the getting there that will cause the issue, especially since it is now stationary!

What area of NC are you in?

One of my daughters and her husband used to live near Winston-Salem

I am 5 miles inland of Emerald Isle in a town called Cape Carteret. It is the coast😉

Do you have to evacuate?

It's a voluntary evac for our area right now, they have mandatory evac for the beaches and will probably do a mandatory evac for the rest of us sometime late tomorrow since the storm isn't forecast to hit till Thursday now. The bridge to the beach will be closing down to incoming traffic in the morning.
