Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

Recommended Posts

@Jayrtom : Have You tested jw bible reader for w8 ?

Yes I have. Very good app, an all in one solution for our meetings.

Unique features :

- you can annotate on the pop up for the scriptures

- you can open the surrounding texts from the pop-up and see the context

- you can create a link automatically for the scripture you're reading and place it on any notebook you're using (for Ex. Word)

You can have all the theocratic material in one app

All in all a very good app (It's the only app in the windows store for this purpose but excellent anyway)

I don't think it has been mentioned (if it is, sorry) but the app now includes God's Love 2014 edition and also Bible Teach 2014 edition. Praise Jah!

EDIT: It has been mentioned. Sorry!

I just downloaded the updated What Does The Bible Really Teach book from pending downloads.

It seems to give that option when there is a publication that you've downloaded before and there is now an update available.

I went to Windows Store (even though I am set for auto updates); then swiped from the right for "Settings"; chose "app updates", "check for updates" then "update" and there I am singing!! Just walked my husband through it. Beautiful!!

Thanks. One additional step is needed:

After the last step given above i.e. update.

After that jw library appears as an app to be updated.

Clicking on the jw library icon that appears will not do any update.

You have to click on install button at the bottom to actually install the update.

JW Library is now a "Universal app", which means it is the same app for Windows 8.1 as well as Windows Phone 8.1, and I guess for the upcoming Windows 10 range.

Link for Windows Phone http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/store/app/jw-library/2428e01f-49b6-4835-8a29-e0ce38c816a4

Layout has changed.  Like the way you can swipe across the home screen from bible to publications to whats new and the daily text.  And also the Frequently Used part.

Does anyone know when we will be able to highlight and take notes?

That has been "coming soon" since January 2014. At this point, I expect that not even the Bethelites working on the program have an estimated release date.

Hmm.. Well what's exactly new about this update. I read what Google play said but I'm not sure how to do it..

I assume you mean: "The ability to download additional publications for offline reading"?

That happens largely in the background. When a new publication/video is released, the first tap will download the publication to your device. After that, the publication will always be available, and automatically updated as necessary.
