Over 1000 structures have been damaged already.

I heard Chico is two thirds surrounded, and is being evacuated. Horrible. Just horrible.

Thank you for this link, Richard. Very good and scary coverage. Of course we are prayerfully waiting to hear about our brotherhood and homes and Kingdom halls affected. The account about the woman who left her purse behind and important papers drives home the importance of having copies of documents in our go bags! I keep my purse near the front door..hard to imagine leaving it behind! Thanks again for keeping us updated and please keep safe!💓

JW.ORG shows several English, Spanish and ASL congregations in the area affected by the fire. The news is reporting that the entire city of Paradise has been destroyed...

Thanks for the info.  My prayers for our brothers and sisters in that area for their safety.  Heard on the news that because the fire moved so quickly that they feared not all residents were able to escape.

Saw this pic and couldn't help but think of Jesus' warning at Matthew 6:19-21

Speaking of the preaching work...I pray that our brothers in these devastated areas will be able

to remain spiritually strong and active.

Congregations will have no KH to meet for worship and field service.  

Their territories have been wiped out.  

No 'public' places to put their carts...and you can't go door-to-door when there are no doors to go to.

 

I will be keeping them in my prayers...❤️

 

In the meantime...I think I will check out the contents of my 'Go Bag'(s) today.

I have many pocket letters on hand in baggies in a bowl near our go bags that I can toss in my bag at the last minute! Then we are prepared to offer comfort through recommendi g our website as well as through the tracts inside rhe envelopes whereever we would be around people after a disaster.😉

That was one of our favorite shows..thanks for the reminder about Radar and Paradise..I had forgotten that..actually I wasn't sure it was even a real place, with the name and show business and all..

I have been keeping an eye on these fires, they are just getting more intense. They said they are burning about 80 football fields a minute if I’m not mistaken. My mind cannot even fathom that! I hope all brothers and sisters have evacuated!!!!

I found out today that my cousin, who is in the truth, lost her home in the fire. She was renting from a brother... so at least 2 of our brothers and sisters lost their home 😞 She had an elder and his wife living with her. They are all safe at a relatives home.

My mom texted me and told me that our cousin said that they lost their Kingdom Hall as well ☹️ Does anyone know of any good scriptures I can share with her?

They suspect the Camp Fire in Paradise may have started by a high power line in high winds...
