Earthquakes In One Place After Another...

Haven't really noticed an increase in earthquake numbers.

I get way more volcanic eruption notices these days than I used to, though,

and, according to Michael Janitch (Dutchsinse) every volcanic eruption

is equivalent to a 5.0 earthquake.

So, a lot of 'energy' is being released lately, just not all in the form

of earthquakes.

Not a 'scientific' opinion, just my own personal opinion based on my

Earthquakes and Volcanoes app's alerts. :D

There aren't really any studies done for the number of earthquakes in the last month or two, but you can look here for the listings on the USGS website for significant earthquakes to date, which goes all the way back to 1900. It could be fun for a couple of home school kids who need a lesson in plotting graphs to take the recent data and see what they can come up with. Also, the graph on this Smithsonian web page seems to corroborate what Ross was saying about an increase in Volcanic activity.

This website will provide reliable data for earthquakes:

https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/earthquake/news/100631/Earthquake-report-world-wide-for-Thursday-26-March-2020.html

For example, if you are wondering how many earthquakes there have been in the past 24 hours

that are 5.0 and above :

Quote

Magnitude 5+: 8 earthquakes
Magnitude 6+: 1 earthquake

Ten largest quakes that have hit in just the past three days:

Lots of good info can be found on this site for both earthquakes and active volcanoes.

I have downloaded and installed this site's app so I get alerts on my phone and tablet

when a 5.0 or above hits anywhere on the planet. :D

For android:  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.volcanodiscovery.volcanodiscovery

For Apple (IOS) : https://apps.apple.com/us/app/volcanoes-earthquakes/id1449389566

Michael Janitch (Dutchsinse) was the first one to report on the correlation between earthquakes and fracking

operations.   When Michael reported his findings, the geologists and USGS poo-poo'ed his reports

and tried their level best to discredit him.

Now these Dutchsinse hating, report stealing 'converts'

are taking all the credit for MICHAEL'S correlation between quakes and fracking discovery. :(

Yup.  No justice in Satan's septic system of things.  13715348_Nosadshakehead.gif.af026d6ccf0daf4119020a7ad8ac3369.gif

6.5 earthquake strikes in Idaho, largest in the state since 1983

McCALL, Idaho — It was a typical Tuesday evening at the Albertsons grocery store in this resort town about 100 miles north of Boise.

Until Susie Baker looked up and saw all the hanging aisle signs swinging back and forth.

“Then I thought I heard a sound … and the floor was moving,” said Baker, a checker at the store.

It was the force of the most powerful earthquake to strike the Gem State since 1983, a magnitude 6.5 temblor that jolted people across Idaho and three neighboring states. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.

The Idaho quake hit right in the middle of our midweek meeting.

As soon as the meeting ended, I turned on the Yellowstone Geysers/Old Faithful LIVE webcam

https://www.nps.gov/yell/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm

and the park ranger controlling the camera was franticaly pointing it all over, looking for signs

that the earthquake had caused the geysers' eruption patterns to change somehow.

Sure enough, the earthquake caused a change in Old Faithful's eruption pattern:

Idaho rocked by strongest earthquake in nearly 40 years

By Chaffin Mitchell, AccuWeather staff writer

Updated Apr. 1, 2020 12:04 PM

A preliminary magnitude 6.5 earthquake rattled Idaho on Tuesday with shaking felt across the region, including Washington state, Utah, Nevada and Canada.

Tuesday's quake was the strongest in the state since the 1983 Borah Peak earthquake and reportedly killed two people. This earthquake was so strong that the eruptions of Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park were noticeably longer.

“The present earthquake struck near the edge of the Rocky Mountain seismic zone, an area of relatively restless crust and frequent, mainly minor earthquakes reaching southward from Idaho and western Montana south to Utah,” Andrews said.

The earthquake was so significant that it was the second largest earthquake in the entire world in the last 30 days, according to The National Weather Service in Boise.

Since the earthquake struck last night, at least 45 aftershocks have occurred around the area, averaging a magnitude of around 3.5.

I find this report from today, April 11, 2020, MOST confusing, because, aside from this CNN article,

I cannot find a trace of this 6.2 quake anywhere else. :(

Earthquakes rock Batanes, Davao Occidental on Black Saturday

By CNN Philippines Staff

Published Apr 11, 2020 1:38:42 AM

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 11) — A magnitude 6.0 earthquake rocked Batanes on Black Saturday, followed two hours later by a 5.5 magnitude quake off Davao Occidental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or Phivolcs reported. There were no immediate reports of damage.

The earthquake in Batanes struck at 12:44 a.m. some 37 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital, Basco, according to Phivolcs' updated report. It had a depth of 157 kilometers.

Phivolcs amended its initial report that put the magnitude at 6.2 and the epicenter at about 16 kilometers northeast of Basco.

The shaking was felt at Intensity IV in Basco, and Itbayat. Intensity III was recorded in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and Luna, Apayao. Meanwhile, Intensity II tremors hit Laoag City and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, and Intensity I in Vigan City.

Batanes Governor Marilou Cayco said that so far there have been no reports any injury or damage from the quake.

I didnt see somebody mentioned, but we live in small county. Earthquake happened in my town, Zagreb, Croatia, on date 22.03.2020. 5.5 Richter. In 6.24 am, than about 7.00 5.0 richter and 7.30 am 4.2.
After 3 weeks we have tenths of small aftershocks maximum 1 richter and twice a week midium about 3 richter.
Old center town is devastated. Many families lost homes including about 50 jw families. Nobody dies, only one woman in center when buildind colapsed.
Town was built in very old system of buildings, low or nothing concrete, last quake was 140 years ago, 1880, 6.0 Richter.
In that time it was hungarian empire.

There are many pictures of city on google "zagreb earthquake 2020"
My house was 10 kms of epicenter and few walls cracked. House is not very old, about 40 years built with concrete and brick blocks..

It's unusual to have someone from our forum actually be in an earthquake with this much damage.  The homes obviously were damaged and were never built with earthquakes in mind.  I appreciate you updating us, and will definitely keep you all in my prayers, especially our brothers and sisters who have lost their homes.

Look and see zagreb earthquake 2020.
Town was built from 1880 till today. That earthquake 1880. was destructive and caused complete destruction.

Newer buildings have no damage at all.
Even catholic cathedral is damaged.
(Also 140 years old)
