the cost of food and agricultural products increased in many countries. What practical measures can we take to prepare for food shortages?

We took practical matters during Covid-19 to have have two week to month emergency surplus. We are still doing that. It recently paid off as we were without our car for over 2 weeks while getting repaired. We have only one vehicle. We live very close to a Grocery Outlet within about 4 blocks from where we live. Since we live in the Pacific Northwest, we are also looking at it as emergency (possible earthquakes) for our area.

I found it interesting in our Congregation, only one brother who also serves as a MS, did not show up with a tie or jacket. He was probably the most casually dressed brother at the meeting. We had several missing from our meeting on Sunday for various reasons and needed substitutes to fill in for the various positions. The brother who dressed casually could not be used as a fill-in. The brother had the right to dress the way he chose, that being said it did limit how he could be used at the meeting. This was our first meeting after the updated guideline.

At the end of the meetings, à disfelloshiped sister is having lot of discussions with sisters for some time. Is that what was said? Isn't a misunderstanding of the new orientations ?

I'm sure if it becomes habitual or an issue, the elders will notice and handle it. But if it bothers you, you could try speaking with an elder about it. There is a tendency to go overboard with such things and some might be stumbled.

With the August magazine out that put this in writing for everyone, it seemed good to pin this topic for a little longer.

Wow! Only since March and a few months later we have it in a Watchtower. That is fast.

Of course, the elders got updated instructions to start applying this update only a week or so after the update. We have been using this updated instruction (S-395) for over two months now.

Soon .....

Oh! We can wear shorts at the meetings now? Even while doing a part? (At least he's wearing a tie.)

We all have a different perspective and understanding of what we read, hear and see in the leadership of the Organization. 😁

Looks like he´s just training the part. Right?

True, he may be rehearsing ahead of time to get comfortable being on stage.

It’s not uncommon for boys to wear formal shorts/suits.
I allowed both sons to use suits in this style until about age 6.

FWIW I believe in Britain the traditional 'upper-class' etiquette is that boys would wear shorts all the time - including for formal occasions -  until they turned eight. They would only actually wear long trousers after they had turned eight-years-old.
