a song that reminds you of the truth?

Recommended Posts

Elvis

[Verse 1]

There must be lights burning brighter somewhere

Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue

If I can dream of a better land

Where all my brothers walk hand in hand

Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true

[Verse 2]

There must be peace and understanding sometime

Strong winds of promise that will blow away

All the doubt and fear

If I can dream of a warmer sun

Where hope keeps shining on everyone

Tell me why, oh why, oh why won't that sun appear

[Verse 3]

We're lost in a cloud

With too much rain

We're trapped in a world

That's troubled with pain

But as long as a man

Has the strength to dream

He can redeem his soul and fly

[Verse 4]

Deep in my heart there's a trembling question

Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow

Out there in the dark, there's a beckoning candle

And while I can think, while I can talk

While I can stand, while I can walk

While I can dream, please let my dream

Come true, right now

Let it come true right now

Oh yeah

A Brand New Day

By George Benson!!

Oh how I wonder
It really makes me wonder yea
Where is so much of the beauty that we see?
Now I'm wondering if it's all been in a dream
Times, they go from bad to worse
Seems it's all been rehearsed
We were standing here acting out this scene

Well I know we need a brand new day, new day
From what I see we need a new day, new day
I really do think we got to have a new day, new day
And that new days coming soon

Pat Benatar - We belong

If you changed the lyrics around a bit you could actually make a Christian version of this.

We belong to the light
We belong to Jehovah
We belong to the sound of the Word
We're all living under

Whatever be our trial that we face
For worse or for better
We belong, we belong
to our Father

For me Garth Brooks song " The Dance" evokes the feelings I have with regard to my relationship to Jehovah.

Despite the trials and tribulations that come with it. " Our lives are better left to chance. I could have escaped

the pain. But then I would have had to miss The DANCE. "

Quiet nights of quiet stars
Quiet cords from my guitar
Floating on the silence that surrounds us

Quiet thoughts and quiet dreams
Quiet walks by quiet streams
And the window looking on the mountains and the sea how lovely
This is where i want to be
Here with you so close to me
Until the final flicker of life's ember

I who was lost and lonely
Believing life was only
A bitter tragic joke
Have found with you
The meaning of existence
Oh my love

This is where i want to be
Here with you so close to me
Until the final flicker of life's ember
I who was lost and lonely
Believing life was only
A bitter tragic joke
Have found with you
The meaning of existence
Oh my love

It's like Jehovah is singing this song to each of us. :)

I'll be your candle on the water
My love for you will always burn
I know you're lost and drifting
But the clouds are lifting
Don't give up, you'll have somewhere to turn

I'll be your candle on the water
'Til every wave is warm and bright
My soul is there beside you
Let this candle guide you
Soon you'll see a golden stream of light

A cold and friendless tide has found you
Don't let the stormy darkness pull you down
I'll paint a ray of hope around you
Circling in the air
Lighted by a prayer

I'll be your candle on the water
This flame inside of me will grow
Keep holding on you'll make it
Here's my hand so take it

Look for me reaching out to show
As sure as rivers flow
I'll never let you go
I'll never let you go
I'll never let you go

  the Byrds "Turn Turn Turn"

            ~ Eccl 3:1-8

(chorus) To everything - turn, turn, turn

           There is a season - turn, turn, turn

           And a time to every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die

A time to plant, a time to reap

A time to kill, a time to heal

A time to laugh, a time to weep

   (chorus)

A time to build up, a time to break down

A time to dance, a time to mourn

A time to cast away stones

A time to gather stones together

    (chorus)

A time of love, a time of hate

A time of war, a time of peace

A time you may embrace

A time to refrain from embracing

   (chorus)

A time to gain, a time to lose

A time to rend, a time to sew

A time for love, a time for hate

A time for peace, I swear it's not too late!  <-- (the Kingdom comes!)

                   At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion,

                             and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening..." ~ Malachi 3:16

It amazes me how well this song applies to the new world... I wish Freddie Mercury could've gotten the truth, telling by the lyrics of songs like this he seemed like he believed in God and would've been happy to know this all will happen soon. The reversed part at the beginning of the song says "God works in mysterious ways, mysterious ways".

Hey!

One man

One goal

Hah, one mission

One heart

One soul

Just one solution

One flash

Of light

Yeah, one God, one vision <-

One flesh, one bone, one true religion <-

One voice, one hope, one real decision

Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, gimme one vision, ah!

Hey!

No wrong

No right

I'm gonna tell you, there's no black and no white

No blood

No stain

All we need is one worldwide vision

One flesh, one bone, one true religion

One race, one hope, one real decision

Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, oh yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

I had a dream

When I was young

A dream of sweet illusion

A glimpse of hope and unity

And visions of one sweet union

But a cold wind blows

And a dark rain falls

And in my heart it shows

Look what they've done to my dreams, yeah!

(One vision)

So give me your hands

Give me your hearts, I'm ready!

There's only one direction

One world

One nation

Yeah, one vision

No hate, no fight, just excitation <-

All through the night, it's a celebration

Woah, woah, woah, woah, whoa-oh, whoa-oh, yeah!

(One-one-one-one-one-one...)

(One vision)

(One vision)

(One vision)

One flesh, one bone, one true religion

One voice, one hope, one real decision

Gimme one light

Yeah, gimme one hope, hey!

Just gimme, ah!

One man (one man), one bar (one night), one day (hey-hey)

Just gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme fried chicken!

Totally agree JayMusicGirl. Freddie was an amazing talent, and thought "The MIracle" was another one that Queen did that has a similar vibe . . .

QUEEN lyrics - The Miracle

QUEEN

"The Miracle"

(Queen)

Every drop of rain that falls in Sahara Desert says it all,

It's a miracle,

All God's creations great and small, the Golden Gate and the Taj Mahal,

That's a miracle,

Test tube babies being born, mothers, fathers dead and gone,

It's a miracle,

We're having a miracle on earth, mother nature does it all for us,

The wonders of this world go on, the hanging Gardens of Babylon,

Captain Cook and Cain and Able, Jimi Hendrix to the Tower of Babel

It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle,

The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on earth - an end to war,

It's a miracle we need - the miracle, the miracle we're all waiting for today,

If every leaf on every tree, could tell a story that would be a miracle,

If every child on every street, had clothes to wear and food to eat,

That's a miracle,

If all God's people could be free, to live in perfect harmony,

It's a miracle, we're having a miracle on earth,

Mother nature does it all for us

Open hearts and surgery, Sunday mornings with a cup of tea,

Super powers always fighting,

But Mona Lisa just keeps on smiling,

The wonders of this world go on,

It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle,

The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on earth and an end to war,

It's a miracle we need, the miracle, the miracle,

Peace on earth and end to war today,

That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends,

````
Oh what a wonderful world this could be
If we all opened up our eyes to see
That love is what we all need right now
Then we all could come together some way, somehow
My door is open wide, no matter who you are
You can come get warm inside
Cuz I need you, just as you need me,
And there's a way to show it, oh love is the key
It may take some time, but we can start by being kind,
To our neighbors in each and every land
And hope that in return, they would be concerned
About the life of each and every man
Chorus
Oh on my honor, I see every man as my brother,
And together we can find the hope that's buried deep within
If we put away our differences and let's all be friends
Life, can be beautiful, when someone gives their love to you
For no special reason, and nothin' in return
If we all tried to love like that,
Soon the whole world will learn
It may take some time, but we can start by being kind,
To our neighbors, in each and every land
And hope that in return they would be concerned
About the life of each and every man
Chorus
Oh on my honor, I see every man as my brother,
And together we can find the hope that's buried deep within
If we put away our differences and let's all be friends
I know that it’s been rough,
It shows in your reflection,
You’ve fallen out of touch,
Got lost along the way,
I know it’s not enough,
But these things they all get better,
And even if its tough,
This is us, you know it on the inside,
This is us, so you should show it on the outside,
This is us, dust the dust up off your shoulders,
Feet on ground, you’ll come round,
And be human again.
I know that its been hard,
But even when its hurting,
You’re gonna have to start,
To learn to recognise,
That even in the dark,
Theres lines between the spaces,
Hiding where you are,
This is us, you know it on the inside,
This is us, so you should show it on the outside,
This is us, dust the dust up off your shoulders,
Feet on ground, you’ll come round,
And be human again.
I like this one:
"Would you like to live forever" by Kent Morrill (I'm in IE so not copy and pasting - if you want to search that in youtube I'm sure you will love it too).
<p>"Jehovah chooses to either 'reveal' or 'conceal' - cherish what he reveals and be patient with what he conceals."
Imagine - John Lennon
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one.
I often wondered if he wrote this song after reading the Truth book or something.  Even in the new world, there will be NO religion, just the worship of Jehovah - so even that line is true.  Once Noah and his family came through the flood - there were no religions, only the worship of Jehovah, the way it should be, the way it should of always been, the way it will be soon.
Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D
I don't know if this song has been mentioned or not but the Jackson 5 did a song a while ago called "Can You Feel It" - you'd swear Micheal wrote it when he was still in the Truth. Here are the lyrics, I especially like the line "and promising salvation is near this time":
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
If you look around
The whole world's coming together now.
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
Feel it in the air
The wind is taking it everywhere.
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
All the colors of the world should be
Lovin' each other wholeheartedly.
Yes it's alright, take my message to your brother and tell him twice.
Spread the word who tried to teach the man who is hatin' his brother,
When hate won't do
'cause we're all the same
Yes the blood inside of me is inside of you.
Now tell me!
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
Can you see what's going down, you can feel it in your bones
Every breath you take,
Is someone's death in another place.
Every healthy smile,
Is hunger and strife to another child.
But the stars do shine
And promising salvation is near this time.
Can you feel it now,
So brothers and sisters
Shall we know how.
Now tell me!
Can you feel it, tell me can you feel it, can you feel it!
Talk now can you see what's going down open up your mind.
All the children of the world should be
Lovin' each other wholeheartedly
Yes it's alright
Take my message to your brother and tell him twice.
Take the news to the marchin' men
Who are killin' their brothers, when death won't do.
Yes we're all the same
Yes the blood inside my veins is inside of you.
Now tell me!
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
Parts of "Heal the world" by Michael Jackson remind me of the truth:
"...And The Dream We Were Conceived In
Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We
Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep
Strangling Life
Wound This Earth
Crucify Its Soul
Though It's Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly
Be God's Glow...
In My Heart I Feel You Are Al My brothers
Create A World With No Fear
Together We'll Cry Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn Their Swords Into Plowshares..."
Good post. I used to believe that The Truth book inspired this song. It was just last year that I was shown a YouTube interview of Tommy James where he gave credit to a trinitarian organization in relation to this song. Still, the coincidence is ponderful.
Larry Graham (once in Sly and the family stone,) sang "one in a million you" and mentioned that in his heart it was like the truth book. Larry married his
hair stylist and they both came into the truth. His first wife has passed away and he has remarried. Tommy James and the Shondells sang 'Crystal Blue persuasion,' and somewhere along the way, people transposed the song, and it was reported that "Crystal blue Persuasion" was about the truth book. NOT accurate knowledge. Our brother, Larry Graham, has been an elder for decades, and also piloted that thumping-of-the-bass-guitar technique that sounds like two instruments playing at once.
One of my favorites!
Barbara Acklin – Just Ain't No Love!
Now I know Why the sky is blue
It sees the sin And heartbreak in you
It sees everything That you don't see, yeah
Do you wonder why You're in misery
If the sky don't have eyes Tell me why does it cry
[CHORUS]
Just ain't love, yeah
(I don't know why)
(Ain't no love)
Just ain't love, yeah
(I don't know why)
(Ain't no love)
Just ain't love, yeah
(I don't know why)
(Ain't no love)
In this world at all, aw, no
So much hurting And taking alike
Oh, paradise What could it be like
All my love is Like a grain of sand
But like mountains If they were in every man
There are tears in my eyes I hurt so deep inside
[Repeat CHORUS]
There are tears in my eyes I hurt so deep inside
Harry Styles - "sign of the times"
"Just stop your crying
It's a sign of the times
Welcome to the final show....
....Just stop your crying
It'll be alright
They told me that the end is near....
....Remember everything will be alright
We can meet again somewhere....
