It can be different things to different people,  and there are Devon Pasties as well as Cornish pasties, but to tell the difference:

One easy way to detect the original Devon pasty from the Cornish is that the Devon pasty has a crimped top, and is oval shaped, whereas the Cornish pasty is semi-circular and crimped on the side, along the curved edge. The Cornish pasty is shaped like a 'D'. Ingredients in these pasties vary, but usually include potato, onion, beef, swede (Turnip in Cornwall speak). There is often a little seasoning of salt and pepper. They also have a chunky texture:

They are both delicious and filling. Excellent when away at a convention or circuit assembly.

That looks very yummy. I guess it's like the British version of an empanada :)

I avoid anything with oil or grease, so I don't get anything on my suit.

I volunteered two years ago to support the Attendant Department for a Chinese RC. At lunch intermission, there were so many Door Dash and Uber Eats food deliveries that it was noticeable. It all appeared to be Chinese food. I strolled around looking at some open to-go (take-away) containers. Lo and behold, it was all hot Chinese food, including Dim Sum.

I will pack some chopsticks for the next Chinese RC I support.🤣

This year, I have opted for cold-brewed matcha tea (brewed by me) and protein bars. I usually walk for three days as a sidewalk or parking attendant.

There are five of us. We used to take a cooler with lunch stuff for the family. Now, we each have an individual soft-sided insulated lunchbox, so we don't have to struggle with anything heavy. We keep it simple with a wrap, sandwich or crackers and meats & cheeses.

I remember the days of my parents lugging around a big plastic cooler to the conventions! There were six in my family including my parents.  I remember using the cooler as a table to eat off in the grass outside the convention grounds.

I am trying something new this Regional.....I am doing Mason jar meals that will last 3-4 days in a hotel fridge or my cooler which I will keep packed with ice. I am making a shrimp and cucumber salad and a Mediterranean bean salad. I did the research because there is a certain way to layer the items.  I hope it works out. Will be making them Wednesday night since I leave Thursday morning for my regional in Ontario CA.

Sounds like I really good idea. Thing is, mason jars. Glass. I’ve thought of glass as a no-no at our conventions. Maybe that’s changed.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!
