We now have 10 of the 15 new songs.  Songs about the Kingdom, Boldness, Jehovah's name, and many about preaching and pioneering.

So with 5 left, what would you like a song about.

To get the ball rolling, I would like another song that could be sung at the Memorial.  We only have 2 at the moment, the same 2 sung every year.  So another memorial song / song about Jesus or the ransom would be good.

What would you like?

Well i would be pleased to answer this question. I hope we get a song about Jehovah's love: "Jehovah will help you" based on Isaiah 41:10 for example. Similar to song 60.

I want another song on Paradise!!! let's call it, "A new world ahead"....

And i want another song to sing to our brothers in time of distress, like: "You're never alone!" or a song for new ones: "We are your family"

I'm thinking maybe one more about 'brotherly love'?

To go along with the new Year Text.  :squeeze:  :encourage:  :grouphug:

Perhaps some new songs of praise for Jehovah, since that is the

main theme of the Bible's 'songbook'. :D

Cool that we will then have 150 songs, just like in Psalms.

Personally, I wouldn't mind another one begging Jehovah

for more faith, courage and endurance.  -_-

Whatever the last five songs' subject matter will be, I will be MOST grateful for them!!! ^_^

I really like that song about all sorts of people - it's the person not the place, it's the heart and not the face.

There could be a similarly upbeat new song also about how we as a varied congregation can work hard to get along with one another.

Not that we don't, but we can remind ourselves of this important part of Christianity - indeed, the defining part - John 13:34-35

I love song 142     It has an upbeat tempo.      I believe that even some younger ones will really get into singing this (as well as older ones like myself).   We have very beautiful flowing Kingdom songs of all kinds.    Yet we see that to Praise Jehovah they all do not have to be melancholy.  You know those couple of Kingdom songs that the brothers and sisters are Now singing at the top of their voices.   I agree with you friends...It would be nice to have a song for the Memorial occasion and some upbeat tempo.    Also in remembering that it is a lot the words that are expressed as we lift our voices to sing praises to Jehovah .      Good suggestions from you brothers and sisters.

I agree with the above expressions about wanting another new song on Paradise, on Jehovah's love, and for the Memorial. One possibility that I have thought might present itself is another song expressing appreciation for our overseers (like song 123), perhaps with a similar melody to the opening music accompanying the video "You Became So Beloved to Us" about our circuit overseers (just something that came to my mind)  :whistling:

I would love a song on a couple of different Bible characters of faith, maybe based on Hebrews 11. It would tie in very nicely with our upcoming CBS! :) Remember the old songbook, it had songs on Abraham, Ruth, Jeremiah... rework some of those ones please!

I also would like another hard-hitting song about Armageddon (like 132) or the fall of Babylon the Great.

That's a great idea! It could be like song 86, mentioning all those characters and a small detail about how they show their faith.

I would like one with at least 6 or maybe 8 flats. With my voice I might need more.

I am hoping they find a way to put the last words of the RC video into a song.

Keep your focus on Jesus

If we look intently on Jesus we will no longer be lost.

He will show us the way to the Father._Jn 14:6

7 of our 10 new songs share the theme of our preaching work

... our GB is making clear its urgency & where our focus should be

agree with many good ideas above

another song about the love & humility of the Christ would indeed be a welcome addition

as well as unity of our brotherhood, enduring trials... all good themes

perhaps a song that could be sung at Memorial while not mentioning the Memorial because

how many Memorial seasons are there left for us    :praying:

At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion,

and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening..." ~ Malachi 3:16

I'd love to have another song to praise our king Jesus. We have the 99 and 109, and we rarely sing them. The 109 is not my favorite though (well, my confession hahaha I loved the old lyrics and melody in our preview songbook. It was the song 105). So, in harmony with John 5:23 and Hebrews 1:5, 6, I'd love to have another song praising Jesus. And as a comment says, probably to sing it at the memorial.

I also would like to have another marching song, in the style of 133 and 137. Let's call it: "See the salvationi by Jehovah!", about our survival through the great tribulation.

I would love a few tribulation songs, a paradise song or two. Maybe a memorial song about Jesus death.

I like the idea of a song about Armageddon/paradise in a past tense. Like it's already happened. Along the lines of "the former things have passed away".

This always appealed to me:

It's a Jw version of a song as if being sung at the moment of Armageddon.

I kinda get the feeling that quite a few of the 2009 songs were Armageddon or Great Tribulation songs!  THis is the WAY for example reminds us that despite whatever disappointments there will be NO HIGH WAY TO LOVE not FINER WAY TO PEACE or something like that.  134 SEE YOURSELF, is designed to get us to see our hope during the deepest despair!  The songs about prayer or take my life, each are designed for us to deal with difficulties as they arise and remain faithful. These last few songs are songs for this system but i thought a lot of the 2009 songs were great tribulation songs.

I've been thinking another Memorial song to change things up a bit would be good too.

I think you guys are WRONG on the number of SONGS! Is there 5 MORE songs to go OR SIX more songs to go???  :)

Yeah I can do math just like you can. But there is a song called Long Suffering, Song 78. We don't use that term anymore. Long Suffering is Patience and we already have a song on patience. Given the syllable difference, it doesn't seem likely that patience will just be substituted. The whole song will need to be reworked or replaced.

1. Our Sov’reign Lord, Jehovah,
Is zealous for his holy name.
He fervently desires
To clear it from unrighteous blame.
Through many generations,
Great endurance he has shown;
Long-suffering and patient,
Not weary has he grown.
His will is that salvation
All sorts of people might attain.
Long-suffering forbearance
By God shall not have been in vain.

2. Long-suffering is needed
To keep us on our godly path.
It lets our heart be tranquil,
Protects us from unrighteous wrath.
It finds the good in others,
Always hoping for the best.
It lets us keep our balance
In times when we’re distressed.
Along with other virtues
That holy spirit can bestow,
Long-suffering will help us
To imitate the God we know

Hopefully the FDS will completely scrap this song for a prettier song!  Also we have a lot of songs that will be reworded!  The song that opened up the annual meeting last year, i think that was the year, had one of the new REWORDED SONGS at the beginning! It was much more beautiful with the rewording.  So we have those issues as well. Also MORE than likely some disappointing changes as well. Will the "Depths of Sheol" be changed in God's Wonderous Works! I hope not!

Oh, song 78! I don't recall singing it in a long while, but the melody is one of my very favorites. I can't remember the title in the old book, but the first words were, "Our Father in the heavens, to time indefinite the same. We gladly sing your praises, and glorify your holy name.."..... ending with, "a well-fed and a happy flock" :D

I love that tune! I believe there are to be some re-worked lyrics because of the new Bible; the brother said so in the Annual Meeting last year that introduced the newer songs. I do hope they keep this melody, though... ♡♡
