Winter just keeps coming here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. 🥴

Well, no snow storms here. It's just that... we had our first significant snow fall overnight. So now we're blanketed!

Hwy 401 just east of London and 402 west toward Sarnia were closed for part of the day today. At the moment squalls are tapering off only 2 cm to 5 cm ( 1-2 inches ) per hour. Supposed to stop in a couple of hours then come back by 6 AM Friday.

Schools were closed. Snow Day. Never had them except in very extreme situations and we got more snow 55-65 years ago.

I remember in 60s and early 70s of people having to climb out 2nd story windows to get out of homes - was common enough. ❄️❄️🥶

I should have said shifting west outside of city then shifting back into city by 6 AM

Millions urged to stay at home as Storm Darragh hits

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j00p3j2dpo.amp

Millions of people in parts of Wales and south-west England have been told to stay at home as forecasters warn of a danger to life as Storm Darragh brings winds with gusts of up to 91 mph.

The Met Office has issued its highest-level red warning for potentially life-threatening weather. The alert is in place from 03:00 to 11:00 GMT on Saturday and covers western and southern Wales and the Bristol Channel coast.

Not life threatening in Oxford London where i am but  I've been hearing the wind on my window from 2am in the morning.

I live in Wales and some parts are taking a real battering. There’s been flooding and power cuts in the last 24 hours in my town. Our in person ministry got cancelled for safety yesterday so we did letter writing on zoom.

The next circuit over (Wales 5) was supposed to be having their assembly this weekend in Bristol but it’s been cancelled. The main bridges between Wales and England have been closed because of high winds and local authorities have said not to travel unless it’s absolutely necessary.

After our second winter storm parts of the U P of Michigan is potentially buried. What my area of the state has now is what we usually have in January.

The picture of the path to the garage isn’t the greatest, but I’m not quite 5 feet 5 inches tall and the snow banks are well past hip high. Ugh!

if we get another storm like the last 2 I’m gonna have trouble throwing the snow over said banks. 🙄🤪

It was a beautiful sunny day today. Tomorrow is forecasted possible freezing drizzle and snow showers. Ugh.

Not a great time to have the snowblower out of commission.

Last winter here seemed to be very mild.  It hardly seemed like winter at all.

EDIT: This summer was so dry the cornfields looked very dry long before the corn was ever harvested.  The farmers were just hoping to break even on the crops this year.  Many crops are not expected to do very well in the coming years due to climate change.  Look for Revelation 6: 5,6 to be fulfilled more so in the coming years.

We have had temperatures below freezing here, but not cold enough to actually freeze water pipes.  Of course, it is mid-December right now.

Here is the rest of the weeks forecast.

WOWW!!! When it gets that hot on this side of the planet, we're wishing we were on the other side of it. But of course, at the moment we're wishing we were in a warmer climate... but not quite that warm.

We can never be pleased with what we have, huh?

It is stinkin’ cold today, and we have an icy blast of arctic wind.  It needs to bring us some snow, then go away.

Here too! It is presently -12°C (10°F), with a wind-chill of -20°C (4 below F). Overnight it will be dropping to -17C (1 above F), the wind making it feel like -24C (11 below F).
