Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

After I updated, I opened the app on my android tablet and nothing was different.  A few seconds passed

and a notification came up saying the app was downloading the new catalog.   I'm thinking Sears, or Montgomery Wards.  

 

Now it is saying the app's catalog is up to date.  I still can't see any access to the new features mentioned in the update, though.  

I think my catalog is broken.  

 

Off to do more exploration...

I think the catalog is the hidden files that compares the files on your JWL to the authorized files for JWL. Since JWL was updated to allow files to be imported, there had to be a way to keep it to just authorized files.

There is no option to remove the unwanted items that the update added automatically.  How can you add something to your Favorites if it has already been added there?

 

The "Share Link" option is new.

My Android JWL just updated.

My favourites was broken some time back. I cannot add my song book to the FAV short-cut. I tap the 3 dots, but makes no difference. Oh well, no biggie...

Oh dear... My favourites have favorites I didn't put there, and there is no option to remove it.

I clicked on it to remove, but I can only share...

The convention trailer is there 3 times.

Has anyone reported this "glitch"? Any information about it?My friend had all the videos from the good news brochure in Favorites..now they are gone! We have 10 Social Network videos in Favorites!

Have you tried touching/clicking the "three dots"? When I do that I get a menu with the options to

• Share Link
• More Languages
• Remove from Favorites
• Delete

My first screenshot was from my Windows PC computer.  This second picture is from my Ipad Pro.  It has the remove from favorites feature as well.  All of my devices have been updated yesterday and today.

My devices updated yesterday. Windows PC - no problems. Android phone got 4 convention videos in favorites - one could be removed from favorites, 3 can't.

Unfortunately, that option is not there!
It is there in books ie to 'Add'
In ''Favorite" I can add it again(!!??), but not remove it. I also tried to DL and delete, but I cannot 'remove' it..

Maybe it is being "rolled out" to various devices and some of us haven't received the "remove" option yet!

My Android 9 phone (S8+) has had glitches for some months now, mainly with the 'Favorites'. Before this current update (and some time back), I lost my song book from favorites. I tried everything to get it back. I even deleted the whole JWL from my device (forgetting to do a backup and thereafter losing all my personal study notes and gems ) and reloaded the lot including all my previous downloads (at less than 1Mps and at great data cost) without any bugs fixed.
This issue has not happened on my Android tablet...
I am reluctant to do a full delete and restore, as I expect the glitch will remain. It is less painful not to have a favorites, than the drama of reloading everything again.
Today's text is good for me.. (Australia date=tomorrow )

I wonder if it is specific to a single brand (like Samsung) or if these problems are intermittent across all of the various manufacturers?

 

I have no problems on my Dell PC(with Windows 10 Pro), LG cell phone (with Android 😎 and my Apple Ipad Pro (with IOS 13.2.3).

It is NOT problem specific to: 

• Android OS
• Samsung Phones in general
• Android Version 8
• Samsung Version 9

I have a Samsung 7 Edge and my daughter has a Samsung 10 Note and the update worked just fine ... we are not having any problems with our favorites or any portion of our JW Library

 

I have no idea what caused the problem on your phone(s) but I hope you get it fixed soon

I wonder why the emoji shows here.  I typed "8 and a )" originally.  When the emoji showed up, I edited the post and changed it back.  Now it is there again....😟

The shortcut text for 😎 is "8" followed by a ")" and when you type it like that - it will change to the emoji if you hit the spacebar after typing it or it will change when you post the comment.

 

Now, if you type "8 )" it will stay that way ... just don't try to seperate them with the "-" or you will get
