Brother Shawnster, let's be fair

Fair is fair. It takes two to argue.  You are right in that the counsel to stay on topic should apply to everyone involved.  Thank you for the reminder.

UK government is hoping to get every adult vaccinated by autumn.  That is a long time to wait.  I guess we won't be getting back to normal anytime soon.

Although older ones are getting now.  Maybe they can get back to meetings at the Kingdom Hall.  With all their zoom experience, I'm sure they can handle the AV system :D

They did also say that's 'hopeful' dependent on vaccine supplies , feels like a long way off.

Someone on another forum I am on remarked that if Jeff Bazos (Amazon) were in charge of the vaccines - everyone would already be vaccinated by now ....

Nah. I once ordered a package of bars of soap, a very common brand here. Like three weeks later it hadn't come so I cancelled the order.

I buy from Amazon almost daily. When I place an order it gives me an  expected delivery date. It is always faster to buy a product Amazon stocks rather than from one of myriads of private businesses selling through Amazon. If I don't like the delivery date for an item I go though the listings looking for an item that has fast delivery. Often if I order in the late afternoon or early evening the product will show up the next day. On the other side of the coin a slow delivery date is slightly cheaper

If I could order the vaccine through Mr. Bezos I would have it already.

Yes, I posted in Post a Picture that:

If Amazon trained all their delivery people to give vaccines they would all be vaccinated by Saturday, Wednesday if you have Prime..

Let us all be cool about this. This virus has cause a lot of problems in the organization and that is what satan wants. Believe me, I am seeing this on my congregation zoom and here too. Do not forget, it is problems and not wars. We are brothers and sisters. Divisions cause hate and we need to show love and over look others comments even we do not agree with it.

I have to say that reading the comments here it seems most of the disharmony about whether to accept the vaccinations or not comes from those in the US.

Whether this has anything to do with the Administration in that country giving contradictory signals I don't know, though I can guess.

Here in the UK I think many of us are simply resigned to the fact that the vaccine will be of benefit in getting the number of hospitalizations and deaths down, so we accept the need for it.

Bottom line as we've already said is that each of us must make our own mind up on what to do, but in my own congregation I know of those in the priority groups who have already had their vaccinations. There seems very little discussion here about whether to, or not, though I don't doubt some will decide not to, at least for the present.

Not really.  The pro/con vaccine debate here is mainly fueled by the growing alternative health movement. I've also seen pretty vocal comments against the vaccine from people outside the US, so it's not limited to one nation.

Well, when on a zoom service meeting a certain individual said that they would definitely not get the shot, reason, they don't trust the government, despite the fact that they once worked for them, however  are trusting that they get their monthly check from them!

Same. I’ve worked for, get monthly cheques from, and also (mostly) distrust the government. And I’m not even in the US 🤣

Just like with the flu shot every year, going to the meetings and shaking hands/hugging - "did you get the flu shot this year?" Don't ask, don't tell! asks mr bean GIF

I must be used to a more open attitude where I live then. It's a freedom I personally prefer, but I suppose everyone is different.

How do you know the debate is "mainly fueled by the growing alternative health movement"?  How do you know it isn't for other reasons?

Robert O. Young a research scientist and, based on his diabolical views about Africans, is a staunch believer in eugenics. (His full statement about Africa begins here at the 1:32 mark). His views towards people of color reminds me of Margaret Sanger and her desire to get rid of a segment of U.S. society.  It truly is sickening to actually here words like these from professionals.
