The 193-member General Assembly scheduled a vote on the resolution ( that deplores Russia s invasion and calls for ceasefire and was previously vetoed by Russia at the security council last week) for Wednesday afternoon after hearing 120 speeches. Unlike Security Council resolutions, General Assembly resolutions are not legally binding but they do have clout in reflecting international opinion. It shows unity among the World leaders against Russia.

may open a precedent for other procedures in process.

If we think the KOTN going to listen to this. It is too late. The damage is done. Ukraine is destroyed. There is one thing the KOTN and KOTS is good of doing and that is  they destroyed nations.

Nations can be rebuilt.  Look at Germany and Japan in the 50s.

this is why some are seeking for a UNSC reform

its been 76 years since UN was set in place and a lot has changed 

if any of the 5 nations of veto power acts like Russia is acting basically remains impune 

 

UN still has no teeth. It’s powerless 

will this change soon?

Will it affect the ability of destruction of BTG soon?

The US State Department may try to find a way to boot Russia from its permanent seat on the UN Security Council (UNSC), shaking up the international bodys balance of power amid outrage over the war in Ukraine, RT reported.

Washington is "investigating the prospects" of expelling Russia as one of the five permanent Security Council members, Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman told American lawmakers on Wednesday.

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Nationalists planted mines on the premises of the Azov State University in Mariupol, Chief of Russia’s National Defense Control Center Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev said at a meeting of the Inter-Agency Humanitarian Response Coordination Headquarters on Thursday.

"The Azov State University in Mariupol has been mined," Mizintsev said, specifying that remotely-controlled explosive devices had also been planted around the building.

In Mariupol, 60 civilians have been stopped on their way to a humanitarian corridor for evacuation and taken by force to school No. 34. The school building has also been mined, he said.

"Now the terrorists are using these civilians as a human shield. They are threatening the advancing forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic that they may blow up the school and the hostages," Mizintsev said.

 

Currently, tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens have been blocked in Kiev, Kharkov, Sumy, Odessa and Mariupol and also in no less than 20 other large populated areas, he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Russian side is ready at any moment to create humanitarian corridors in Ukraine, Mizintsev said.

"The Russian side has already created all the necessary conditions for the safe evacuation. We are ready at any moment and in any direction to create corresponding humanitarian corridors," the general said.

In Mariupol, Donetsk region, the Russian aggressor currently creates a humanitarian catastrophe, preventing the evacuation of women, children, and the elderly from the town.

"Today, Russian fascists are creating a humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol! These bastards have found no other way to break us. They hinder the supply and recovery of electricity, water, and heat. They also damaged the railway service. Bridges were destroyed, trains were smashed so that we would not be able to evacuate women, children, and elderly people from Mariupol. They hinder the supply of food, create a blockade as once in former Leningrad," the Mariupol Town Council posted on Facebook.

According to Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko, Russian invaders have been deliberately destroying the town's critical infrastructure for seven days.

"Putin's horde troops are constantly shelling the city and preventing the evacuation of the wounded, women, and children. We are doing our best to restore the city's critical infrastructure as soon as possible. We are working with international institutions to create a ‘green corridor’ for humanitarian mission. We are striving to set a ceasefire regime to restore electricity supply," the mayor stressed.

Mariupol remains under fire. Women, children, and the elderly continue to suffer.

 

"We are being destroyed as a nation. This is the genocide of the Ukrainian people. These hypocrites came allegedly to ‘save’ Russian-speaking citizens of Mariupol and the region. And they arranged the extermination of Ukrainians – Mariupol residents of Russian, Ukrainian, Greek, and other origins," Boychenko stressed.

He warned that the enemy was currently spreading many fakes, so he asked the population to read only official sources.

As reported, on February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.

Russian troops are killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, and missiles hit Ukrainians' homes.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, courageously resist Russian aggression.

I'm trying to understand all of this, but still can not completely. 

 

The big vote the other day, almost every country in the world saying thay they do not agree with what Putin is doing, what is this for? Okay, starting war was a bad idea. Now what? Do they expect Putin to suddenly care what anyone thinks and stop? Or now that the vote is complete, they will do something else? 

 

I'm betting the answers will be no and no. Look at NK.. He recently fired off a missile or two by the way. Can't have Russia take over all the front page news, now can he? 😅

Maybe it’s not feasible legal to oust Russia from UN.

but UNGA may vote to change something in the UN charter to empower the nations and weaken the veto power.
