I think I mentioned this before, but quite interestingly, on the last year’s movie, Daniel: A Lifetime of Faith—Part II, there was a scene where angel says Daniel 12:12 to Daniel.

But the strange thing was, they subtly omitted the mention of 1,335 days, and also, that the scene was as if that scripture applies to the final part of the last days, i.e. GT, Armageddon and the resurrection hope.

I don't think there is anything to it :)

Don't forget the conventions are made also with the general public in mind. There was no need to mention those numbers, as explaining it was out of scope for the convention

Yes it is my personal experience.  Sr. Rutherford was going blind as she got into her 90's and our FSG overseer (Br. Asa Cook) and my father would take some time on a field service morning to go to her house and she how she was doing.  While there, they would read some of the publications to her. I was told she was an important and beloved sister and I was to be on my best behavior.  I was 11 years old at the time.

Did his son, Malcom, have any special priviledges at bethel?

I am not sure how long Malcom Rutherford stayed at Bethel.  When CT Russell was President, he was Russell's "stenographer" or personal secretary.  I don't know if this is a "privilege" or not but he was "prominent" to a degree.  I could not find the quote quickly, but Br. joseph Rutherford spoke of his son assisting him in one of his debates.  The opposers had several clergymen  in opposition but Rutherford mentioned how pleasing it was that his son stood by him with scriptures looked up for him to use in rebuttal.

He moved to California when his mother did and that ended his Bethel experience.

I have attached a page from the 1911 Convention report showing various prominent members of Faith who toured with Russell on the Trans-Continental Train Tour.  It shows Malcom Rutherford in the lower right corner.

Br Hess, I would like to nominate you the Community's official Historian....🙂

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..

I will just chalk it up to Jehovah's blessing of a relatively long life in the Truth, parents who loved to study and read, an excellent library (digital and printed) and a God-given curiosity...❤️

Thank you for the nomination...🙂

While speculation and general interest is fine, it should be remembered that we have printed direction and explanation of the meaning of these verses and the relative numbers mentioned.  We have identified these points, explained the reasoning behind them and produced literature for study that includes them for almost 100 years.  Now we see a one-hour movie and we suddenly decide it must all be incorrect.

If it needs adjustment, it will be explained as a clarification.  If it is incorrect but doesn't change any feature of our faith before the Great Tribulation, then it won't be clarified until the "New Scrolls".  If it is absolutely true....be careful of trying to "run ahead" and perhaps sow doubt in our understanding (especially in the new students).

The passage of time will show the clarity.  In the meantime we "keep the faith".  Paul warns us of going off point and following some other word rather than what he taught.  John warns us of starting to deviate in 1 John 2:24..."As for you, what you have heard from the beginning must remain in you."  So we wait in faith and loyalty for clarity.  We do not use a lack of understanding on our part as a reason for doubt.  Jesus always knows the proper time  to give us food....❤️

I too am trying to understand what the significance of a new understanding would even be. I'm not seeing the point or why it's even a topic tbh.
