While I don’t believe there will be WW3, there is a credible threat of nuclear disaster from the Ukraine war with 6 nuclear reactors of the Zaporizhzhia power plant in Russian control. Mismanagement, or deliberate attack by either side will cause nuclear fallout eclipsing Chernobyl, affecting many parts of Europe.

Zaporizhzhia: How the crisis unfolded

March 2022: Shortly after the start of their invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops seize the plant. Its management is told it now belongs to Russian state nuclear power company Rosatom. Ukrainian staff continue to operate the plant under Russian control

July: Russian forces reportedly deploy rocket launchers in the complex, turning it into a military base

3 August: The International Atomic Energy Agency says the plant is "completely out of control" and needs an inspection and repairs

5 August: Ukraine's nuclear agency, Enerhoatom, says two rounds of Russian rocket fire prompted its operators to disconnect a reactor from the power grid

8 August: Ukraine says renewed Russian shelling has damaged three radiation sensors and injured a worker. Local Russian-backed authorities say Ukrainian forces hit the site with multiple rocket launchers

10 August: Foreign ministers from the G7 group of nations say Russia must immediately hand back control of the plant to Ukraine

11 August: More shelling of the plant is reported, with Ukraine and Russia again blaming each other

Let’s hope it doesn’t get too bad.

With the world one step away from suffering the biggest nuclear/atomic attack ever, it is difficult to believe in the proclamation of peace and security. However, the fact that everything is going in the opposite direction, makes the prophecies that are coming even more interesting and leaves us full of expectation as they unfold.

"You also, keep ready, because at an hour that you do not think likely, the Son of man is coming.” - Luke 12:40

It could be that things will get worse before they get better.

In view of all the ongoing prophecies that have been fulfilled and in the process of being fulfilled, there is no doubt that the rest will follow.  How?  Jehovah knows how!  He will accomplish his will inspite of the perceived impossibilities.

It will be interesting to see how things will unfold.  I'm sure the angels in heaven are just as curious as we are at this point.

This system is definitely on its way out, there is no question about it.

Not holding out much hope….

”Three of the four power supply lines linking the plant to the Ukrainian national grid have been damaged by shelling and Ukraine's nuclear regulator has warned that a complete loss of power supply would mean that "nuclear fuel will begin melting, resulting in a release of radioactive substances to the environment".

Ukrainian officials are so concerned about a potential nuclear disaster at the Zaporizhzhia power plant — currently under Russian control — they have begun distributing iodine tablets to nearby residents.

The plant was temporarily knocked offline on Thursday local time due to what officials say was fire damage to a transmission line.

Zelenskyy said the plant's emergency backup diesel generators had to be activated to supply electricity to operate the complex.

The plant requires power to run the reactors' vital cooling systems, and a loss of cooling could lead to a nuclear meltdown.

(Remember that's what happened to Fukushima's nuclear reactors when the tsunami knocked out the power.  But this is a preventable man-made disturbance to the power supply!)

  • 2 weeks later...

The last powerline connecting the plant to the Ukrainian electricity grid was cut on Monday.

The plant is now without an outside source of electricity and receiving power for its own safety systems from the only one of the six reactors that remains operational.

Energoatom, the state nuclear operator, said on Friday that repairs to the outside lines were impossible because of the shelling and that operating in the so-called "island" carries "the risk of violating radiation and fire safety standards."

"Only the withdrawal of the Russians from the plant and the creation of a security zone around it can normalise the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP," Petro Kotin, the head of Energoatom, said Friday on Ukrainian TV.

"Only then will the world be able to exhale."

Operations at the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine have been fully stopped as a safety measure, Energoatom, the state agency in charge of the plant, has said.

The plant "is completely stopped" after the agency disconnected the number 6 power unit from the grid at 3:41am local time on Sunday, it said in a statement.

"Preparations are underway for its cooling and transfer to a cold state," the statement said.

Sunday , September 18, 2022 , Joe Biden sits for an interview with Scott Pelley for the program 60 Minutes.

Pelley asks Biden what he would say to Putin regarding even limited tactical use of nuclear weapons in the Ukraine conflict.

Biden would say: "Don't. Don't. Don't. You will change the face of war unlike anything since World War II".

Now, Biden is no stranger to hyperbole.  But, in view of what Bro. Splane said in the GB update #6 , it's hard to imagine a nuclear response.

Bro. Splane:  (Quoting someone else)  "There is no advanced industrial democracy in the world more politically divided or politically dysfunctional than the United States today.  What about the other part of the dual world power, Britain?  Its been especially divided over the ties it should maintain with the European Union.  So, its been almost impossible for the Anglo-American world power to act decisively."

Would the USA retaliate with a nuclear strike of its own?  Probably not.  Restraint under such circumstances could even lead to their P&S.

It's interesting that Bro. Splane can quote a source of political opinion , and yet remain neutral.

Tomorrow, then? The content of the show is already available?

Yes. Not a live interview.  Biden's people would never let him do live  .  .  lol.   It has been taped.  A teaser clip is out there.

Another Ukrainian Nuclear power plant threatened

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-09-19/ukraine-prepares-for-donbas-assault-nuclear-power-plant-concern/101455582

Ukraine accused Russian forces on Monday of shelling near the Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear power plant in Ukraine's southern Mykolaiv region.

A blast occurred 300 metres away from the reactors and damaged power plant buildings shortly after midnight, Ukraine's atomic power operator Energoatom said in a statement.

Zelenskyy claims CCTV shows explosion near nuclear power plant.

The reactors were not damaged and no staff were hurt, it said, publishing photographs showing a huge crater it said was caused by the blast.

I didn't take this statement to imply the US would respond to a nuclear attack on Ukraine.  Not saying I disagree with your take on the comment, just saying I never thought of it that way. Interesting.

My thought went back to Vietnam when some wa hawks were pushing for the US to use tactical nuclear weapons in that conflict.

Then I thought about these little bad boys

The M-28 or M-29 Davy Crockett Weapon System was a tactical nuclear recoilless smoothbore gun for firing the M388 nuclear projectile, armed with the W54 nuclear warhead, that was deployed by the United States during the Cold War. It was the first, and, at the time, the most important project assigned to the United States Army Weapon Command in Rock Island, Illinois.[3] It remains one of the smallest nuclear weapon systems ever built, with a yield of 20 tonnes of TNT (84 GJ). It is named after American folk hero, soldier, and congressman Davy Crockett.
