I was surprised when Peter tried to visit me. We’ve never met before but he must be looking for a new friend.

When you walk in the woods on a cloudy day, more friends come out to visit you on the path.

He’s a nice guy just sunning himself.

I LOVE turtles.  

 

I had a blog that detailed the rescue of a baby painted turtle from our lake back in 2010.  The lake was poisoned to get rid of the carp but it killed the other fish.  My daughter and I saw him when he was just the size of a quarter.    We set him free a few months later, when we knew that it was safe.

Found this little baby mantis doing what anything that small would be doing when a giant catches him.

He/she was on my windshield as I was leaving for work. Very hyper little fellow.

They are left on their own as soon as they hatch and must start eating anything that moves. Not many survive. <sniff>
